Hermione Granger looked over to Harry Potter with disgust in her brown eyes. Harry returned her penetrating glare and looked down at his work. Harry had been dating Cho Chang since their 6th year and now at the beginning of their 7th year, Cho had unexpectatly dumped him. Hermione was furious because even though she had warned Harry about Cho Chang's vain personality and the obsession that she held with herself, he had blamed Hermione for their oh-so-sad break-up. Actually the break-up involved a multitude of shouting and stomping on Cho's part and Harry had remained silent the through-out the entire confrontation. Hermione just couldn't understand men, one minute they were you're best friend acting all chummy and the next they hated you with a passion. Even though Harry and Hermione were incredibly upset with each other, she still couldn't help but notice how cute Harry looked as he bit his lip, concentrating on his potions work. Harry must have sensed someone looking at him for he whipped around and saw Hermione staring at him. He subconciously smiled at her and realising what he did, he scowled and turned back around. Hermione felt her face flush a deep crimson as she tried to focus on adding the toe-nails of a Grindywald to her truth potion. The potion bubbled nicely and sent a curl of purple coloured smoke into the air above her cauldron. Professor Snape noticed the smoke and started over to the table that Hermione was sharing with the lovely and gracious Pansy Parkinson. Wait a minute. Did Hermione just say lovely and gracious? She really meant snobby and pig-headed. Not to mention the fact that Pansy didn't know anything about, well, anything and left Hermione do all the work. Pansy had sat staring at Draco Malfoy, her love, or so she thought. Everyone knew, even the Gryffindor's, that Malfoy hated Pansy and only put up with her because his father told him to. Oh well, we're in for it now. Thought Hermione as Snape strode purposefully over to their table. "Granger!" He barked. "Yes Professor Snape?" Questioned Hermione trying unsuccesfully to be sweet. "Your potion looks ready. Care to test it out?" Snape demanded more than asked. Hermione's heart ceased in beating at that moment. She sucked in a rattling breath and she felt her heart resume its normal pattern. Snape wanted to test her potion. In other words, he wanted to test it on her. Millions of thoughts flew through her head. She would tell the entire class, not to mention the entire school, about all the adventures that herself, Ron Weasly and Harry had faced in their former years at Hogwarts. She braved a quick look to Ron and Harry who were working together. Ron had a nauseated look on his normally happy face and Harry just looked plain scared. She looked back to Snape thinking of what she might blurt out. All about the Philosephers Stone, the Chamber of Secrets and the worst, Sirius Black's whereabouts. She groaned inwardly and turned her mouth into a smile. "Very well Professor." Hermione said and then heard Ron and Harry's soft gasps. Snape looked as though he was about to say something, but paused and his beady eyes looked around the room until his malicious gaze fell on Harry and Ron. Hermione could almost see the wheels turning under his greasy, black hair and she knew immediately what he was going to do. He was going to make Harry and Ron take the potion, they would be the one's to tell the secrets. Hermione had to do something but what could she do. She was powerless against Snape. At the moment she was painfully aware of all the Dark Arts that Snape knew and the small fact that he used to be a Death Eater. The faithful servant to Lord Voldemort. "Potter, Weasley get up here." Snape growled and stalked up to the front of the dungeon. Harry and Ron looked at each other and then both looked at Hermione, Ron giving her a not very reassuring smile and Harry just nodded tensely. Hermione knew that the only reason that Snape picked on Harry so much was because Snape held a humongous grudge against James Potter, Harry's father. So he took his anger out on Harry. Ron was really only picked on because he was Harry's best friend and stuck with him through thick and thin. Hermione could only guess as to why he hadn't chosen herself to go up and receive the potion alongside Harry and Ron. Snape returned to Hermione and Pansy's desk with two small vials which he filled with potion. Hermione heard snickering behind her, she spun around and realised that the snickering was provided by none other than Hermione, Harry and Ron's arch nemisis, Draco Malfoy. He noticed Hermione staring at him with something incredibly close if not complete hatred. He gave her a look of surprise and something in his eyes faltered. He knows. Hermione thought and she felt her stomach drop down to her feet. He knows about Sirius, the Philosophers Stone and everything. Malfoy quickly looked away and Hermione looked once more to the front of the class, giving a involutary shiver. Snape was explaining the effects of the truth potion to the class. "When Potter and Weasly take this potion, they will have to reveal to me everything. They are powerless to stop the potion and by lunch the enitre school of Hogwarts will know all of the famous trio's great secrets. So everyone prepare to be amazed and if I can say so myself shocked at all the things they have done and the rules that they have broken" Snape explained with quite a giddy look on his seemingly twisted face. He gave Harry the potion first, natually and then Ron. Harry doubled over like he was going to retch the contents of his stomach onto the dungeon floor. He made a few choking noises and collapsed on the floor. The class gasped and stood up, craning their necks to see Harry on the floor. They let out another audible gasp as Ron followed suit and fell to the floor next to Harry. Professor Snape pointed his wand at the pair and said, "Enervate." Harry and Ron sat up simultainiously and Harry replaced his glasses. Both had a glazed look in their eyes, as though the weren't really there. It scared Hermione to see them working by someone else's will, it was like they were not really Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. "Harry, are you alright?" Hermione called out without thinking. "Yes Hermione, I'm fine." Harry responded in a monotone voice. Hermione was comforted only because he was working under the effects of the Truth potion. Therefore he couldn't lie. Snape gave her a furious look and said, "Five points from Gryffindor! You of all people know better then to talk out of class, Granger. Anymore outbursts and I will give you the potion and I doubt that anyone will care to ask how you feel." Hermione looked down at her desk while a single tear threatend to fall out of her eye. She felt hot breath on her neck and turned back to see Pansy Parkinson grinning from ear to ear. When she looked at Pansy, Hermione felt a surge of hatred and annoyence pass through her body. Why did she get the slight feeling that Pansy was going to try something? "Yes Pansy? May I help you?" Hermione asked in a whisper, her teeth painfully gritted together. "I was just thinking what this whole truth potion could do for Draco and I's relationship. Potter and the Weasel tell all their deep, dark secrets, Draco is finally happy that their lives are basically a living hell and he will finally treat me right." Pansy explained and Hermione winced for Pansy's breath smelt strongly of onions and liver. "Pansy, I could honestly care less what you think and I really dont think that Malfoy wants to have a relationship with someone who doesn't care to use a toothbrush after they eat onions and liver." Hermione said softly and turned her head back to the front and to Harry and Ron. Snape was in the process of interrogating Harry about the Tri-Wizard tournament. "Do you admit to stealing the Gillyweed from my private store, Potter?" Snape asked his eyes flashing dangerously. "No it was not me. It was Dobby the house elf." Harry replied a little too eagerly for Hermione's personal taste. "Ahh, the house elf. Yes quite a strange little fellow, I have to say. What about that small piece of parchment?" Snape asked obviously referring to the Mauraders Map. "That is the Mauraders Map that was given to Harry by my brothers Fred and George." Ron supplied for Harry. Hermoine groaned and slumped down, hiding her head from view. Snape's next question was quite interesting and Hermione couldn't be quite sure what he said. "Now boys, whom do you fancy?" Snape asked in a whisper. Ron answered first," Lavender Brown sir." The class broke into fits of giggles and Lavender looked as though she needed a leathal weapon to kill Snape with. "Now Harry, please tell me." Snape ordered. "Gladly," Harry replied and Hermione leaned forward to hear what he was going to say, " I am madly in love with none other than Hermione Granger." Hermione sat down in her seat with a loud thunk. Harry liked her? Harry was very, very upset with her, he couldn't like her, neverless love her. She thought that she may had made her potion wrong but she immediately knew that she didn't. The class once again burst into a fit of giggle and the Slytherin's cat-called and whistled in her direction. "Now boys, tell me what has happend to Sirius Black, we're all dying to know." Snape asked his hands shaking in anticipation. Hermione snapped out of her thoughts and her heart started pattering madly. It was all over, Snape would tell the Ministry of Magic and Sirius would be caught and the deadly Dementors Kiss would be administered to him as soon as he was caught. Suddenly out of the corner of her eye, Hermione saw Malfoy raise from his desk and race past her. What was he doing? She thought. Malfoy reached Harry and Ron and promtly punched Harry in the face. Hermione jumped up and raced over to Harry. "What the hell did you do?" She screamed at Malfoy and slapped him across the face, not the first time that she had done it eaither. Hermione knelt down next to Harry and brushed his wild hair out of his eyes. Ron stood there looking stunned and Hermione whipped out her wand to relieve them from the spell. Now that Ron was out of the trance and saw Harry on the ground unconcious he flew at Malfoy knocking him to the ground. "You stupid idiot! You ever touch him again and I swear that I will kill you with my bare hands!" Ron yelled, his face purple with rage. As Ron and Malfoy were fighting each other the door to the dungeons opened and none other than Professor Dumbledore stepped in, not at all appalled at what he saw before him. At Dumbledore's unexpected entrance, Snape hopped up from where he was thoroughly enjoying the action and pulled at bucking Ron off of a very hurt Malfoy. Hermione had never seen Ron look so upset. He was purple in the face and he was still swinging his fists around him. He stopped suddenly when he saw Dumbledore and gave him a sheepish look. "Severus, what an interesting class you have been teaching today." Dumbledore said with a slight twinkle in his blue eyes. "Yes sir, very intersesting." Snape agreed with a slight shake of fear. "All the matter, I shall need to see Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy along with Miss Granger in my office immediately."
