It's a bittersweet day.

Manny has fabulous hips, both 4 out of 5. But, he has one questionable elbow. Elbows are on a yes or no basis, no scale. He has a "good" and a "moderate", moderate being circumstances to be career changed.

My little bubby has been dropped.

Now, I am waiting to hear when I will be getting a new puppy to train. The details of that are to follow, it may be as long as a few months. In the meantime the story is the x-rays are under review. It's hush hush about the change. I don't want anyone at work getting lazy in the meantime or being pitiful about it yet.

The doc says that with moderate regular exercise, and avoiding running on hard pavement or hikes with unusual weight (saddlebags), he should lead a normal life and most likely never have problems with his elbows. Easy enough. Now he can be Dad's fishing buddy and lead a happy spoiled life in Yorba Linda. I really don't see my Mom or Dad taking any jogs through the neighborhood or needing additional labor on a hike through the mountains. He he.

So, there you have it. More details to follow as soon as I know more.

Training:
Yesterday I went out and bought some new shoes, Diadoras. The guy at the bike shop is a big proponent of them, and I liked them. Comfort, not too pricy, and they aren't too lame looking. I also managed to get a $99 Bell helmet, for a whopping $10! Gotta love clearance. Wanna know why? It was missing the UGLY visor. Oh shucks. It's pretty blue like my bike.

Today, I took my new shoes, and new helmet and went for a little de-stress, pre-dusk ride. I rode about (2) miles. It's a 1.2 miles from the driveway to the parking structure at Bart. I rode around the neighborhood a little first, a little up the trail, and then down to the gas station before Bart to get air. Oh what a difference proper air pressure makes! So, I still like the new shoes, and I think I am ready to have the clipless pedals added. I made a point each time to twist off of the pedal when I removed my feet. I think I should be fine. Then again I have been wrong in the past. So I'll wear long pants and ride near grass =)

hooray for email!
