With so many commercially produced videos on the subject of amusement parks and roller coasters these days (some of which are available through e-musementParkStore!), it's a refreshing change of pace to see these videos available. Most other videos of this genre usually just feature on-board and off-board views of roller coasters around the country, sometimes boring us to death with their constant repetition. You've seen it time and time again: First, show the park and the coaster(s) featured. Next, introduce a roller coaster "expert" for that particular ride. And finally, take an on-board ride with the "expert" while he or she yells at the camera while they try and describe the obvious. It get's real old very fast!
Not so with these particular videos that have been expertly edited by the producer. The DVD's center on the producer, his wife and a group of friends visiting parks located not only in the United States but overseas in England and Japan as well. And it appears that they had just as good a time documenting the parks as they did experiencing the rides! And that's what was missing in many of the commercially produced videos. These DVD's not only show the parks and coasters in all their glory, but you'll see a group of people actually having a GREAT time! WARNING! There are a few places scattered throughout these films that contain some rather "adult" content, both visually as well as audibly. Fortunately, when we come to a front seat ride on the "Manhattan Express" at New York, New York in Las Vegas, Nevada, all of the adult language has been "bleeped" out. And there is a LOT of it! But then again, this is to be expected for anyone taking a ride on this very rough and painful coaster!
