Hello, Dolly! is a musical comedy that is very well-known throughout America. Dolly Levi, the protagonist, is very active, with an upbeat personality. The setting of the musical is New York, with an emphasis on Yonkers. Dolly tries to do many things at once. She's a dance teacher, a party-maker, but most of all.. she's a matchmaker. When Dolly meets Horace, she tries to matchmake herself with him. But before she has a happy ending, they have to experience a lot of adventures. The rest of characters include: Cornelius Hackl. He works for Horace in his Hay and Feed Store in Yonkers, along with his companion Barnaby Tucker. There's also Irene Molloy, whom she falls in love with Cornelius when they meet in New York. Minnie Fay who is Irene's best friend. Along with Minne, Irene owns a Hat Shop. The plot is very interesting, not to say the score. If you haven't experienced the magic of this fabulous musical, I suggest to see it now. |
