When he first appeared in the sisters' life, he was just a handsome but mysterious whitelighter from the future, trying to save to world from the Titans. It took almost a year for the sisters to, one by one, find out he was actually Piper and Leo's second son, returned from the future to save the world from becoming the evil empire of his older brother Wyatt, who was turned evil, by who? He didn't know...

Chris first appeared during an attack of a Titan, saving Phoebe's life. After saving the world from the Titans, with Chris' help, Leo became an elder, causing Chris to be assigned as the sisters' new whitelighter. Though the sisters and Leo want to know a lot, Chris is extremely secretive about the future. Leo becomes very suspicious of Chris, and claims he doesn't trust him; though Chris uses his powers and sends Leo to Valhalla.

when Leo returns, he is ready to strip Chris of his whitelighter status, suspecting him to be the one who had sent him to Valhalla. He even wants to send him back to the future. With the sisters' help, he still stayed their whitelighter. Though Leo is still suspicious, the more time he spends with Chris, the more he realizes Chris came back with a good purpose: preventing something terrible happening to Wyatt.

The sisters finally find out a little more about Chris, when his fiancée from the future returned; Bianca. She was ready to strip Chris' powers, forcing him to come back to the future. Though he returns with Bianca, it doesn't take long before the sisters save him so he could return. Though the trip was very painful for Chris; he had to watch his fiancée die, and he definitly saw that his job in the past wasn't done yet: Wyatt was still evil.

After seeing a glimpse from the future, Phoebe figures out that Chris is actually Piper and Leo's second son. But it's the question if he's even going to be; Piper and Leo still aren't together. So when the date of his conception draws closer, Chris gets more and more nervous, and eventually he starts fading away. Finally, he disappears, knowing that it is too late. However, because of a dangerous and emotional situation, Piper and Leo get back together again for one night, and Chris is concieved after all, causing him to return again.

When Piper finds out that Chris is her son, she is denying it and afraid to believe it. When she accepts it, she is hurt knowing that Chris is holding back, and doesn't want to be close to her. Wanting to find out why he acts that why, she calls her father for help. Because Victor and Chris are close in the future, Victor finds out why Chris is holding back: Piper had died when he was fourteen, and so he thought it would be too painful for him to return to a future where she isn't, while he was just getting close with her again. Eventually, he does give in, and even starts calling her mom. However, he still seems to hate Leo, and even beats the crap out of him once. When Leo asks why he hates him so much, Chris explains that he was just never there for him in the future: he was there for Piper, Wyatt, half of the world, but not for Chris.

Chris' efforts to protect his brother from becoming evil eventually led him to his death. He was stabbed by Gideon while protecting Wyatt, and because the weapon was blessed, no one but Gideon could heal him. There, in the past, with Leo at his side, he died, and vanished.
