Rose Biography

On September 5, 1973 Rose McGowan was born as second eldest to her French mother and Irish father. Her parents were part of the cult 'Children of God', based in Italy, so that's where Rose grew up. When she was nine, she moved to the western United Stares. But for Rose life wasn't easy. So after saving up some money from various jobs, Rose ran away at only the age of thirteen, of the LA in hopes of becoming an actress. However, poor Rose sometimes found herself sleeping on the streets, or if she was lucky, in nightclubs after hours.
But eventually, Rose landed a small part in the comedy Encino Man opposite Brendan Fraser, but it was in 1994 when her life would take a big turn. Rose was spotted by a casting agent on an L.A. sidewalk. This meeting led her being cast as the angry young lead in Gregg Araki's 'The Doom Generation'. Although the film opened to mixed reviews and a fair amount of controversy, Rose was exposed to a larger audience, and bit by bit gained a fair sized fanbase.
Rose starred in various films, but it was the teen thriller Scream which shot Rose into the mainstream of public awareness. Finally, her dreams came true, and the beautiful dark-haired girl was on her way to the stardom she had always hoped for.
After starring in various films, Rose then finally landed in Charmed, replacing Shannen Doherty as a regular cast member... and with succes!
