The Story

Once upon a time... nope, just kidding :P Though the story does start that way really, because once upon a time, born in Virginia, but moved to Salem, Massachusetts, there lived a witch. A powerful witch. Her name was Melinda Warren. This witch, born from a mother who was called Charlotte (which is my name too :D), controlled three powers. She could move things with her mind for one thing, which we call telekinesis. Then she had the power to slow down molecules, allowing her to freeze time; temporal statis. The third power she owned was the power of premonitions, a very rare and highly desirable power amongst witches.

This powerful woman fell in love with a man named Matthew Tate... but he betrayed her. He was only after her power as a witch, but Melinda managed to curse him into a locket. However, Melinda was already betrayed, and eventually burned at the stake, at the Salem Witch Trials.
But Melinda had a daughter: Prudence. Prudence was of course a witch too, and would pass the Warren magic down to another generation, followed by another generation... etc. That's when Melinda Warren made a prophecy:

Each generation of Warren witches would grow stronger and stronger, culminating in the arrival of three sisters. These witches would be the most powerful witches the world has ever known.

These three sisters were 'The Charmed Ones', 'The Power of Three', the protectors of innocents and all things good. These three sisters were Prudence, Piper, and Phoebe Halliwell.


when Penelope Johnson married Allen Halliwell, the family name of the Warren witches became Halliwell. Penelope, better known as Penny, was one of the most powerful witches of her time, and controlled the power of telekinesis. Penny gave birth to her daughter Patricia (Patty). Patty Halliwell married Victor Bennett, and they had three daughters: Prudence, better known as Prue, Piper and Phoebe. When Patty was pregnant with Phoebe, a warlock, named Nicholas tricked her and captured her. Her forced her to bless a ring, which would grant him immunity to the Charmed Ones' powers. Of course, Patty and her mother couldn't let this happen, so they decided for Penny to bind the girls' powers right after Phoebe was born. The fact that they were witches was hidden, causing Prue and Piper to forget the fact that they ever were witches, and they never got the opportunity to remember.

When Patty died three years after Phoebe's birth, Penny; 'Grams', raised the little girls. When Prue was 28, Grams died after a heart condition, Phoebe moved back from New York, and the sisters started living together in the Halliwell Manor, where they grew up. However, the girls didn't know that Penny's death was what triggered their powers to be released. All the sudden, Phoebe found the Book of Shadows, read an incantation, and suddenly the girls had to live with the fact that they were the world's most powerful witches ever. The Power of Three. The Charmed Ones.

Their powers suddenly be unleashed, the Charmed Ones awakened, all sorts of evil were drawn to their power. Fighting demons, warlocks, and other evil villains drew the sisters closer to each other. In order to vanquish them and not only save innocents, but only their selves, they had to be one unit, and stand strong. Going through so much finally made the Charmed Ones overcome they're differences, and accept each other.


But of course Prue died during an attack of the Source's right hand Shax. It seemed the hardest for Piper to accept her sister's death, and she gave up on magic and the Power of Three. She didn't change her mind until they found out that they actually had another sister! After the divorcement of Patty and Victor, Patty fell in love with her whitelighter, Sam, resulting into a beautiful fourth daughter for Patty: Paige. Of course, witch-whitelighter relationships were forbidden in that time, and they couldn't risk the 'Powers That Be' finding out about their daughter. That's why they gave the little girl up for adoption, with only one condition: her name had to begin with a P. Paige.

Eventually Piper and Phoebe managed to get contact with their long lost baby sister, and after a whole lot of trouble, the Power of Three was reunited. However, things were still very difficult. It wasn't easy to just find out they had a baby sister, who was part witch part whitelighter. For Paige things weren't less difficult; not only did she have to accept the fact she suddenly had two bigger sisters, she also suddenly became a witch, and not just any witch, a one of the most powerful witches ever existed, and great things were expected for her. Paige went through a lot, and realized she had to give up a lot; friends, her independency. But eventually, the sisters got to know each other, got used to each other, resulting into a more powerful and more united Power of Three than ever before.
