Batgirl's allies and friends
Batman
Naturally, Batman is one of Batgirl's allies. When she first rescued him (as Bruce Wayne) from the Killer Moth (in her first appearance--Detective #359), Batman was surprised, but demanded to know her identity. She offered to trade for his, but they didn't that night. Batman told her to stop heroing before she got hurt (suspicious of anyone who has not been through the "Batcave Training Session". ) Ironically, that warning had the opposite effect. Eventually, she was awarded with the Dark Knight's greatest secret. He also discovered her identity. They have been allies ever since, and he has a direct connection with Oracle at all times. In the TV series, Batgirl was very much treated like she was in early stories. She awed Batman and Robin on more than one occassion. In the Animated Series, Batgirl was not so welcome. Batgirl screwed up a couple of times (almost blowing her, Robin, and Batman sky high), so he at first thought she was in the way. "It takes more than a costume and an attitude to do this work. You've already fowled up once. Stay out of our way so it doesn't happen again." However, with her gymnastic, martial arts, and detective ability she eventually proves herself. She will also knows his identity in the new series, and gives him information with computer police files.
Robin/Nightwing
Naturally, if Batman is her ally than Robin has to be as well. I know little of her relationship to the current Robin. I have no idea if Batman told him her identity, or if she even wants him to know. However, it is implied that he does know, since she knows his. However, Dick Grayson (the first Robin) has always had a good relationship with her. No matter what incarnation or medium, Robin and Batgirl always make an outrageous team. What's more he and Batgirl have always had chemistry--and even to this day Nightwing and Oracle are close friends. Batman always keeps a Robin or a "boy wonder". The first was Dick Grayson, who went on to become Nightwing (she knows his identity as well). He carries the same tools as Batman, and he and Batman are a team.
Supergirl
If Batman and Superman were friends before the Crisis of Infinate Earths, than Supergirl and Batgirl were--right? That's absolutely right. Supergirl and Batgirl were friends pre-crisis. Pre-Crisis Supergirl was Kara Zor-El/Linda Lee Danvers, who was Superman's cousin from Argo City. Argo City managed to survive Krypton's explosion. Due to the imminent doom apon the city once again, her father Zor-El built a ship that rocketed her to Earth. Upon being under a yellow sun, Supergirl had all of the powers of Superman. Supergirl and Batgirl made an excellent team. In a Superman Family comic, Supergirl and Batgirl fight a villain named Cleopatra. They are a good team, and it is unfortunate it had to end because of Supergirl's death and Batgirl's paralysis. In the current comics, I doubt Supergirl (now Matrix, a shapeshifting blob of alien protoplasm and a human girl named Linda Danvers), has even met Oracle. She first appeared in 1988, the year Barbara gave up the Batgirl title and was killed in the Killing Joke.
Commisoner James Gordon
The Police Commisoner is Batgirl's father. He has supported her, throughout her career. She didn't want him to, but for years he secretly knew of her job as Batgirl. However, he has no knowledge of her current identity as Oracle. Commisioner Gordon has always trusted Batman, until Azreal took over as Batman for a little while. He has started to question his trust because Bruce, Azreal, and Nightwing have all assumed the identity of Batman. He's not always sure if he can trust the man behind the mask. But it seems he still has a friendship with the Commisioner. Commsioner Gordon trusts Batman and Batgirl.
Black Canary
Black Canary can sort of be seen as--Oracle's "legs".A founding member of the JLA and former partner of Oliver Queen, she is currently partnered with Oracle. Just like Barbara exposes the breaking of the law--Black Canary can enforce it if no one will. Black Canary works as a troubleshooter, going wherever her skills are needed. Black Canary is a master of many martial arts including judo, karate, and akido. Her costume is made of kevlar--a bullet-resistant material that is padded at the forearms for deflecting attacks. She used to have a canary cry--a powerful sonic attack, but lost it due to an injury. She can constantly communicate with Oracle because of a two-way radio built into her costume.
Alfred
Alfred is the butler of Batman--and his surrogate "father". In a way. In the animated series and in the sixties TV series, he was very fond of and helpful of Batgirl. In the sixties TV series, he was the only one who knew Batgirl's identity. He would often tip her off. As she is also now part of the regular camp in the new animated series, she is also close with Alfred. In the movies, Alfred was her uncle.
