If you're really looking at winning one of my awards, then here are a few tips:

If you use graphics from other people's sites, then make sure they're linked back and saved to your site.
If you have cyberpets on your page, then give them a few comments for each one, don't just stick them there.
Make sure your page is interesting, tell me a bit about you, or give me some stories or games.
Try to have as few spelling mistakes as possible.
