The following poems were written by my very best friend LIONHEART
The first one is a powerful poem and to some it could be disturbing but we all have dark days. The rest of his poems show a side of him that I have been fortunate enough to know.
Darkness Has Fallen
You hand me a precious red rose
It turns black in my hardened hands
I walk through fields of daisy's
Crushing them fills me with some kind of joy
I close my eyes to forget the pain
Someone else's loss, helping my gain
If you hand me your dreams to make real
They would melt & fade in my red hot hands
The warmth I show on the outside
Conceals the ice cold I have within
My heart like a winters night
Bruised and battered like a boxers last fight
When I look in the mirror to reflect
I see a man who hasn't grown yet
With his jaded smile & sleepy eyes
His broken promises & self told lies
He wonders in ten years, where will he be
Hate, greed & fear does he want to live to see
He closes his eyes & reflects on his life
Friends and family who have come and gone
Trying to find strength to grow a new love
Imagining the future to be a brighter one
But at the end of each tiring day
It feels like he's just walked over his own grave
The only thing that makes him smile
Is the innocence of children having fun
Seeing there joy brings in a new hope
Can this give him strength to carry on
Children are protected & sheltered from pain
As they grow like him, they shall suffer in vain
Is one man strong enough to heal the World
To laugh at sadness, smash hatred in the mouth
To wipe a tear away from someone's eye
Make the promise to be faithful & never lie
If people follow his loyal ways
Is there a future with brighter days?
Heaven On Earth
I've been to that place where time stands still
High above society on life's great hill
Where everything is peaceful & the sky is clear
And all your sad thoughts seem to disappear
The trees leafs whisper in your ears
Calming words that take away your fears
The suns warmth that shines on your skin
Melting away cold feelings from deep within
Your eyes can now see further than before
Through clouds of doubt to Heavens door
The sound of the ocean, washing away all your cares
Its gentle waves seem to answer your prayers
As you stare at the stars in the night
Like watching tiny angels in flight
Your wondering if the angels can see
That there beauty is taking away our misery
As the sun rises into the sky
Birds singing good morning as they fly bye
As life awakes to a brand new day
Inside scars of pain heal & fade away
The light of life is inside me
I just need to smile to let others see
If everyone had this glowing light
Heaven on Earth is within our sight

I Hope
A smile will never leave your face
A tear will not appear from your eyes
A sad thought will never enter your mind
A butterfly feeling will stay within you
A cloud will never hang above your head
A drop of rain wouldn’t fall in your path
The sun will shine to clear the sky
The glow inside remaining always bright
The birds will sing you a lullaby
The stars will shine bright all night
All your dreams and wishes come true

The minute I wake up in the morning

Where Do We Go From Here
Called you last night
Trying to make things alright
Not looking to fight
Why am I not in your sights
Wanting to put a smile on your face
Taking misery's place
Why is it the case
Your gone with no trace
I'm left wondering why
My face with a sigh
Trying to help
I know you are shy
Why do I feel all this pain
Feel I have nothing to gain
I'm all alone in the rain
Talking to myself, hoping I'm not insane
Wish you were here by my side
Full of love and self pride
I can be your life's guide

Take a trip with me

But not turn you upside down

Something Missing
Its like reading a good book,
but unable to turn the final page.
Its like listening to a great song,
but skipping the chorus.
Its like a beautiful flower,
unable to bloom.
Its like a romantic poem,
that doesn’t touch your heart.
Its like perfect dinner candles,
that just wont stay lit.
Its where a wonderful sunset,
falls too quickly.
Its like being on a sail boat for the first time,
but there's never any wind.
Its like opening a box of chocolate's,
but only finding lemon creams.
Its like watching a sad movie,
where your tears fall on the inside.
Its imagining seeing her,
but she doesn’t see you,
then realizing your not imagining,
it is for real.
