Rose Breath
Take this rose in your hands,
pull it close to you,
gather the scent in your mind.
Let it caress your cheek,
drift to your ear, trail down your neck,
to the base of your throat,
then...let your heart hush- breath a sigh,
and let the world stop for one heavenly moment.
Your lips are as that rose to me I see you speak,
I watch your lips, and my mind gathers you close
I take in your scent
feel the brush of your lips caressing my cheek,
drifting to my ear, trailing down my neck...
and the world stops, for one heavenly moment
as I feel the breath of your lips against mine.
Morning After
I’ll bet the night
Is what she thinks I’ll remember…
Bedroom doors open to the patio,
Rain pouring,
Cool breezes over warming passions
Storms brewing.
I’ll bet she thinks I’ll dream about
The teasing, the kissing, the licking
of the winds in my room.
The wetness inside mirroring wetness out,
Cries of thunder,
Storms now raging everywhere,
Then easing into a sleepy drizzle.
But when morning lightened
The gray darkness at the edge of the room,
And I pulled carefully away from her sleepy warmth
To stand naked in the doorway.
Greeting the mist from the patio,
Soaking in the wetness of the carpet
Sipping in the gray dawn until
Until goos-bumps caressed my skin.
I knew then;
this is the moment my mind will capture.
I pad to the kitchen,
Gather my coffee
Then slowly back to bed.
To pull her sleepy body over my chest,
Sip my java, listen to the bird’s soft chatter
As the morning rain begins.
Yes, this is the memory that will hold me,
This, this is the moment to hold dear.
