Glazed Lemon Pound Cake

This makes a really small cake so double the recipe

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • a teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup crisco
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt, set aside
  2. Cream Sugar and crisco
  3. add eggs and flour mixture
  4. Add lemon extract and beat
  5. pour into a tube pan
  6. bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour 15 min.

Glaze

INGREDIENTS
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. mix lemon juice and powdered sugar
  2. Beat until smooth
  3. Pour over cake
