| In 1995, The Sons of Membertou, A Mi'Kmaq drumming group,
and Shirley Christmas (her spiritual name is Kiju Kawi which
means "Mother Quill"), a poet and storyteller of Membertou in
Sydney, were invited to the Rising Sun Achievement Day to share
culture. The children enjoyed the day so much, they voted
unanimously to have the Drummers and Kiju Kawi become
honorary members of the Club. They have club Tee-shirts and are
