frontierland restaurants
conestoga fries
location
Across from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad on the Rivers of America. It's just north of the entrance to the Mark Twain.
cuisine
McDonald's fries and drinks.
comments
I don't like McDonald's being in Disneyland and never will, even if they only invade in "fry" form. On the positive side, you could just walk by and never notice it; it's not ostentatious about the "Golden Arches."
golden horeshoe
location
On the left side of the Frontierland street at the corner, facing out toward the Rivers of America.
cuisine
Fried things, like cheese and fish & chips. Also, chili and other "Western Fare."
comments
It's disappointing that Golden Horseshoe wouldn't have better fare. This old, stately theater deserves a better, more refined menu.
rancho del zocalo
location
On the right side of the Frontierland street, next to and really part of Big Thunder Mountain. It's also accessible from the Castle through Carnation Gardens.
cuisine
Mexican food, of course, but not just your run-of-the-mill tacos and enchilladas. Zocalo boasts such Mexican specialities and creations as fish tacos and roasted chicken.
comments
I'm not a huge fan of pretentious Mexican food (like "El Torito") but it's nice to see Disneyland really try to upgrade its cuisine. Zocalo also has really cool decor and you should always get a table right next to Big Thunder if you can. It's like sitting inside an attraction.
stagedoor cafe
location
Next to the Golden Horsehoe and at the border between New Orleans Square and Frontierland.
cuisine
Just your standard fried fare (like the Golden Horseshoe). Of course, they share the same kitchen.
comments
Uninspiring fried food.... I never really go there.
