Meet Beady Bear, the mascot from Boston, MA!

We are an elementary school in Roslindale, a neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Our school has 239 children, beginning in early childhood classes (age3) one K1 inclusion classroom, our K2 classroom. It has 24 children from several neighborhoods in Boston. Our kids are bussed to different neighborhoods because of a desegregation order in 1971. The school also houses one grade 1-5 and 5 special education classrooms.

Boston is a large city on the Northeast Coast of the United States. We are located an hour away from Plymouth Plantation and Cape Cod. I live in Dorchester which is another neighborhood of Boston, just 10 minutes traveling time. School began on September 13. Our classroom sponsors the traveling backpack project, "Make Way For Ducklings Traveling Buddy Backpack Project." This will be our second year. It is very successful and we love meeting other teachers and students throughout the world. When Beady bear leaves us, he will travel with the book, "Lost." This is a story about a bear lost in Boston. A little boy finds him and takes him on a tour of Boston and they end up in the forest where the boy becomes lost. It is a great book.

Now playing..."All Hail to Massachusetts".
