HAMBURGER SOUP

Ingredients:

1 pound hamburger
1 cup onion, chopped
1 cup diced celery
4 cups water
1 cup cut up carrots 1 cup potatoes, peeled and diced
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon Brown Bouquet Sauce*
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 bay leaf
1/8 teaspoon basil
1 can (28 ounces) tomatoes with liquid

* This is a liquid gravy seasoning - any brand will do.

Brown hamburger, onion and celery.
Add remaining ingredients, except tomatoes.
Cover and simmer until vegetables are tender.
Break up tomatoes and add; bring to a boil.

This hearty soup is a troop favorite. We have taken it along on field trips in a thermos for a hot lunch on the go.
