Mom gave us each a piece of "Bit of Honey" candy and 2 "Bubble Gum" Coins and said
"May God Bless your new year with
Sweetness and Prosperity".
Rosh Hashanah
is the beginning of the Jewish calendar new year. It is also called "Feast of Trumpets". Trumpets or Shafars are sounded throughout the day. Rosh Hashanah is both serious and festive. It is a time Jewish people seek spiritual renewal through prayer and deep personal reflection. It is a 2 day celebration for remembering God and for family and friends to get together.
Mom invited our older brothers and sister to go to church with us on Wednesday night and afterwards we celebrated with a Rosh Hashanah Feast.Everyone in our Family loves to gather around the table with lots of Good food. It certainly felt like a Holiday, and we enjoyed learning more about
God's chosen people - The Jews.
