I love to go camping and have been going a lot since I was about two. Click on the pics below to read a little about some of my camping trips and favorite places. There are more pics with each one, too. |

![]() | Rock Island State Park is located between Sparta and McMinnville, Tennessee, just off US 70S. It has 50 campsites with electricity and water, 2 bath houses and is open year round. There is a natural sand swimming beach on Center Hill Lake, an archery range, a general store, a hiking trail that includes a beautiful overlook over Great Falls. We went camping there in the summer of 1996. I went with my mom, Robin, Dustin and Brandi. We camped in a tent, swam on the beach (there is a playground on the beach) and hiked around some waterfalls. |
![]() | Seven Points Campground, located on J. Percy Priest Lake is one of our favorite places to camp. There are lots of campsites with water and electricity, a boat dock. and a sandy beach. Lots of the campsites are right on the water, so you can swim and fish right at your site. We go there a lot every year. |
![]() | We went to Maggie Valley, NC in the summer of 1996. We camped in the mountains, then visited Cherokee, NC. We saw a Native American dance show and had our pictures made with the Cherokee Indians that live in the area. |
![]() | We went to the Buffalo River and camped for four days in May of 1996 and May 1999 and 2000. We like to camp at Slink Shoals, at Flatwoods, TN. It has a great beach area on the shoal and lots of places to camp. On holiday weekends, the shoal is packed with people. You can meet lots of new friends. On regular weekends, it can be private and peaceful. |
![]() | We go to Nashville Shores on Percy Priest Lake several times during the summer. They have a water park, a beach, mini golf, water slides. campgrounds for RVs, arcades, skating and primitive camp sites too. Once, a skunk came right through our campsite. |
