Keep up with my day to day fun by reading my weblog!!

My name is Shelby Dakota. I am ten years old, and in the fifth grade this year. I live in Nashville, TN. Nashville is an interesting place to live, even if you don't care for country music. We have lots of other music festivals at Riverfront Park. We had a theme park called Opryland that was pretty cool but the owners took it all out to build yet another shopping mall. As if we need another one.

I started school band this year; I am learning the clarinet. We have already had our first concert, there are some pics in my Gallery. We had to dress up for the concert, I liked that because I got a brand new fancy dress, shoes, and some other nice clothes too. My Grandma, Grandpa and mom came to the show. We did pretty good, considering we are all first year band students.

I am also a Junior Girl Scout with Troop 2616. This is my third year in scouting and I really like it. We get to do lots of interesting and fun things. I think I like the camping part the best, my mom and I have been going camping a lot since I was little. Last May my Girl Scout Troop went to Camporee at Camp Sycamore, it was very fun. We stayed at Camp Sycamore for three days and two nights. We got to do lots of interesting things - crafts, flag ceremonies, singing, campfires, color guard, and more. We played on the swinging bridge over Sycamore Creek and made Tie Dyed t-shirts. We also had a Bridging Ceremony for several of our Girl Scouts. We had everyone from Daisies to Seniors at this years Camporee. My mom took lots of photos for our Troops Camporee web site, over 200 in fact. I hope you can take a few minutes and check out our photos and stories from Camporee 2000.

I am also a Cheerleader with the Bellevue Steelers Single B Football Team. Our team didn't do that well, we lost more than we won. But we still had fun at it and hope to do better next year. There are lots of Photo Galleries taken of the players and cheerleaders in practice and at the first Jamboree plus game day photos on our Bellevue Steelers Gallery Website. We have a different site to show Photos from our Homecoming Parade, including games, floats and player/cheerleader presentations. This is a very good site with some fun pics of the Bellevue Steelers Football Teams, Games, Cheerleaders and full Homecoming Game and Parade coverage. My mom's name is Cindy. She is an artist, computer illustrator and web site designer. She works at home doing freelance work. She has had several drawings published as cover illustrations on magazines. She helped me build this web site; she did the coding and the graphics and I picked out the photos and wrote most of the text. She has also done quite a few other sites for me - my Bellevue Steelers Football/Cheerleading Gallery Site, my Girl Scout Troop Site, my old school's website and more.

My dad's name is John. He works for Opryland. He loves to hunt, collect guns and work on his old cars and trucks. He is really a Dodge man!! He named me after a pickup truck, the 1990 Dodge Shelby Edition Dakota Pickup. He said that if I was a boy he had planned to name me John Dodge. He has a new Bright Yellow Dodge Ram Truck now.

My parents don't live together anymore. I live with my mom and stepdad Tim. He is really nice and fun and I like him. I have a Miniature Pinscher named George. He is black and brown and looks like an eight inch tall Doberman. He is kind of aggressive, I guess he thinks he is a real doberman. He sleeps with me every night and keeps me warm. He likes to play, he will fetch his toys, and jumps like he has springs for legs. He is fun to play with. He knows lots of tricks; he will sit, jump up, lie down, get down, speak and even go around the pole on the porch when you tell him to. He is very smart.

I hope you enjoy visiting with me, meeting my friends, and sharing some of the things I enjoy. I've got some pics and more info on my Gallery Pages.
