I took a biology class last fall that was feild
ecology. We got to take several weekend field trips. On some
we netted and
counted migrating birds, on others we collected
water insects and identified
them as species indicators of water
pollution. On this trip we got to go the
Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina.
This is the group photo of that
3 day camping trip.
The sticks that some people are holding are attached to nets.
They are used for collecting insects from river beds (which
we were doing in very very cold water!).
