Trick-or-treaters
-
Instead of masks,
wear face makeup.
-
Wear Comfortable,
safe shoes.
-
Add Reflectorized
strips to your costume to make you more visible to others.
-
Do not wear costumes
that are floor length, cumbersome, or block your vision.
-
Make sure your
costume is not flammable.
-
Set a time limit
for children to Trick-or-treat.
-
Designate a route
to take, and make sure that your parents know what it is.
-
An adult should
go with young children.
While
Trick-or-treating remember
-
Never Trick-or-treat
alone, always go in a group, of two or more.
-
Only visit houses
where the lights are on.
-
Carry a flashlight
and use it so that drivers can see you, and you can see hazards in the
street or in front of you.
-
Walk on sidewalks
and drivesways.
-
Cross only at
street corners, never between parked cars, and never diagonally across
a intersection.
-
Look all directions
before crossing the street, and obey all traffic signals. Walk, don't run
across the street. Use sidewalks, not the street for walking.
-
Be very cautious
of strangers.
-
Do not accept
rides from strangers.
-
Do not take short
cuts through backyards, alleys, or parks.
-
Do not go inside
anyone's house. Remain on the porch at all times.
-
Be polite and
say thank you for your treats.
-
Don't play near
lit jack-0-lanterns.
-
Do not eat any
of the treats until your parents have inspected them.
-
Discard any homemade
or unwrapped treats.
-
Call 9--1-1 if
you suspect any tainted candy.
Adults
-
Welcome trick-or-treaters
with your porch lights and any exterior lights on.
-
Patrol your street
occasionally to discourage speeding cars, acts of mischief and crimes against
children.
-
Call 9-1-1 to
report any suspicious or criminal activity. Or call your police department
immediately.
-
Do not give homemade
or unwrapped treats to children.
-
Do not invite
children into your home.
-
If driving, exercise
extreme caution. Be on the alert for excited children whose vision may
be obscured by masks, darting out into traffic.
-

YOUR CHILDRENS TREATS!
