Blue's Clues Fan Club Cookbook
--------
With all these great fans, that love to help with this newsletter, we
have decided to add one more thing. :-) We would like to create an
Unofficial Blue's Clues Fan Club Cookbook. That everyone would be able
to download all the receipes, or view it online and print out
individual receipes. :-)
Please send your childs favorite receipe's, and your childs first name,
and age. Also if you don't mind us putting your email address with
your receipe, please let us know. :-)
We would also like for kids to "tell" how to make their favorite
receipe. Like how to make Peanut butter & Jelly Sandwich, or Cereal,
or French Fries, kool-aid or any other favorite food or drink. :-)
These are "fun" recipes.
For Example:
Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich
by: Dyllan
Get bread and put strawberry jelly on the bread.
Then put peanut butter with nuts on the bread.
Put the bread together and then you eat it.
or
Nachos with Cheese
by Jayme
Take a bag of chips, but cheese on them.
Put them in the Microwave. Cook Ten Minutes.
Put lettuce on top. Eat it up.
Please tell us what catagory your receipe fits into. (Casserols, meats,
Soups/Salads/Veggies, Breads/sandwiches, Breakfast, Snacks, Desserts,
or Fun Receipes.)
We will select one real and on fun receipe for our next newsletter.
Once we start getting receipes, we will have the receipes posted at
http://www.oocities.org/~willie-dyllan/blue/receipe/

Kate & Jonah's Blue's Activity Book
----
Kate got the idea for making an activity booklet for her son,
when she realized the sheer number of activity pages she had
downloaded from different sites. She took the pages to her
local copy shop and had them laminate them. (about $1.50-$2.00
a page), and had them done back to back. She then punched
holes in them like notebook paper. She made a cover for it out
of thick, blue Felt, and cut it in the shap of a letter. She
put velcro on the part of the envelope you would lick, it makes
it easy for little hands to get open, and made a stamp out of
bits of colored felt. She then drew Steve and Blue where the
return address should be, and a simple stick figure of her son
where his name would be.
You can get more creative with this, She turned his into a
felt friends carrier also, and made a felt Blue, Shovel, Pail,
and Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper. It's really very easy and fun
to do, if you kids are old enough, you can let them help cut
the felt (with safe sissors) or glue the pieces.
Kate said "Its really neat to have them look at you like you
are the most amazing person in the world because you made
them a Blue of their very own."
Thank you Kate & Jonah for this great idea. I am sure this would help
cut down on printing and paper. We have some coloring pages
and we also have links to the Nickelodeons coloring pages also, that you
can use for this project.
-------
Sonya's Blue's Clues Crib Sheets
-----
Sonya loves Blues Clues, so her mommy made her some Blue's Clues
Crib Sheets. You can see how she did at her site. This
is a really neat idea, since you are not able to by Blue's Clues
Bedding yet. :-) Thanks for the great idea Sonya & Mom. :-)
-------
Remember, if you have any pictures or drawings or ideas of Blues
Clues, please let us know and we will be happy to put it in the next
newsletter. Or if you would like to submit any articles, send them to
Willie.

retail for approx. $26.00 each. They will be in the stores in October.
We are going to try and get a special discount on the costumes for
all the Unofficial Blue's Clues Fan Club Members.
Blue's CD's
-----------
The Blue's Clues CD's are due out in mid-September. There is "Blue's
Birthday Adventure" and "Blue's ABC Time Activities". They are
expected to run between $19.95-29.95 each. Several of you may have

We received ours and it looks like they are going to be great! We
hope to get a special discount for all the Unofficial Blue's Clues

-------
Willie finally received his "Birthday Blue" from Mott's. She is
really cute, and is like a little bean bag toy. If you haven't
ordered yours yet, you have until 12/31/98 or while quantities last.
:-) See Merchandise Retailers below, for more information.
We also ordered the two Blue's Clues Videos from CDNow.com. They
are really nice. The tapes are bright Orange, and Willie has no
trouble finding them in his collection of tapes. Anytime we need
something to keep Willie Occupied, we let him play one of his tapes.
We have taped other episodes, but these two tapes are his favorites,
because they have "Blue" on the tape, where the onces we taped don't.

Blue's Clues Party Ideas
************************
After doing some research, and talking with Several people, we have
found out that Nickelodeon has not authorized release of Wrapping
Paper, cards, or other party items until January 1999! So for now
we are going to have to continue to use these great ideas from
other Blue's Clues Fans. :-) For a listing of previous months ideas,
you can goto our Party Page
Brandon & Mom Amanda's Birthday Party Ideas
---
They made T-Shirts for each child in attendance. Using their
computer they created shirts that say "Brandon's Blue's Clues
Birthday Party" with a picture of Blue and some paw prints.
They printed their creation onto transfer paper (obtained at
a computer supply store) and ironed it onto some inexpensive
t-shirts.
Brandon's Mom also found a bakery that will airbrush a picture
of Blue onto his birthday cake. They will also use his Blue's
Clues Subway toys on his birthday cake too!
Ryan & Mom Dori's Birthday Party Ideas (July 11th)
-----
1.) Have a Treasure/Scavenger Hunt like Shovel and Pail, but
leaving paw print clues on items for the kids to find.
2.) Do the sink/float experiment and have paper for each child
to write if they think an item will sink or float. The
child with the most right gets a prize.
3.) Play a game of Blue's Clues with paw prints, notebooks and
everything, to let the kids guess "What is (Your child's
name) favorite (activity, color, sport, etc.).
4.) Decorate your house the way that Steve and Blue did theirs.
I purchased light and dark blue streamers, balloons, napkins,
plates, utensils and ribbons. I am going to put
the balloons in the same fashion, 2 light blue, 2 dark blue
and 1 spotted on white ribbons and anchor them to purple
covered sandbags.
(By the way, they don't sell the spotted balloons and
streamers anywhere I looked so we just took a dark blue
permanent marker to light blue ones for the same effect.)
5.) We are serving blue raspberry and blue koolaid snow cones,
Blue' s Clues Berry Applesauce and a white sheet cake with
3 blue paw prints across the top and Blue and Mailbox in
the upper corners

RUMORS
******
Ok, last month, I talked about a Rumor about Steve leaving the show.
I hope, this time I cover everyones opinions on this. I received
several messages that I was wrong, about him leaving. And several
that agreed with my opinion.
At the Current time, Steve is NOT leaving Blues Clues, he is
scheduled for at least 40 more episodes. I know that there was an
magazine article that said that he is afraid of being "type-casted"
and plans on leaving the show. Well he may leave the show at
sometime in the future, and again, at sometime in the future, Blue's
Clues will be canceled. Neither of these are happening at the
current time, so why do some people want make kids upset about
something a while away. At some point my kids are going to move
out, but I am not going to worry about that now, I will when the
time comes. So NO, Steve is not leaving the show now, and yes, at
some point in the future a year or two or ten he will be leaving the
show.
I just wanted to STOP the rumor that was being posted by two respected
Blue's Clues Pages, that Steve HAD left the show. One was sending
messages out from "Nickelodeon" that Steve had left, when he has
not left! Sorry to those that didn't understand why I was talking
about this "rumor".
If we keep saying Steve is leaving, he probably will think that no
one cares if he stays or leaves. Lets show him that we love him on
the show, and don't want him to leave anytime soon.
