Hello Everyone!!
We hope everyone had a great and fun Summer! I am sure all the kids
are back in school! Willie started Kindergarden and is doing great!
The only complaint is that he misses Blue and Little Bear and Franklin.
He now has to watch them on tape when his homework is done. Willie
is my last one to start school, so hopefully I can now get back to
updating the website more often, and to get the newsletters out on
time.
The summer was so busy we didn't get the July-August Newsletter out
as planned. Thanks to all those who wrote to find out where it was.
I appreciate hearing that you like the newsletter and miss it coming
out!
We have some great news this month to share with you. We would like
to welcome our new Unofficial Fan Club Members from The UK (England),
Mexico and Canada! Nickelodeon is going global, and we know have
fans from around the world! We talked to several fans in Australia,
Island, Italy and Japan! I really enjoy being able to say I talk to
people from around the world, and that we have something in common to
talk about! ---Our kids love of Blue & Steve---
There has been several Merchandise items released in the past couple
of months! We are happy to pass these along to you! Sears has been
our major supplier of Blue's Clues clothing, and Starting October 1st,
we will see it appearing more places! Starting in January 2000 we
should see it in just about every store around! This is great for
those members who don't have a Sears local to them!
We would like to set up a map of where our Unofficial Blue's Clues fan
members are located! If you are willing to let us know the city and
state, or City and Country! We would love to get a map started!
I think it would be very intersting! Just email us at
willie-dyllan@geocities.com?subject=Map
We have been doing the UBCFC for over a year and half, we would like
to see if the percentages have changed for your favorite Blue's Clues
Character! So stop by and vote! If we have missed your favorite,
please drop us an email and let us know!
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to spend time
with us!!

New Blue's Clues Tour
---------------------
Blue's Clues, Nickelodeon's award winning pre-school show is hitting
the road this fall with BLUE'S CLUES LIVE! "The Most Spectacular
Place." This live theatrical experience invites pre-schoolers and
their parents to think, imagine and participate in the show. Audience
members follow Blue and her friends Tickety Tock, Slippery Soap, Mr.
Salt & Mrs. Pepper and, of course, Steve, as they search for clues on
their quest for "The Most Spectacular Place." Beyond the TV screen,
onstage Blue and her friends come to life in three dimensions,
stimulating kids' imaginations while celebrating the wonder of
learning. BLUE'S CLUES LIVE! features an unprecedented level of
interactivity from the moment families enter the theater until the
time they leave.
Tickets for BLUE'S CLUES LIVE! "The Most Spectacular Place" will be
available beginning September 16.
BLUE'S CLUES
------------
Continuing the momentum of its extremely successful launch in 1998,
the next phase of Blue's Clues product will highlight - Blue's World,-
featuring new characters including Mr. Salt & Mrs. Pepper, Paprika,
Tickety Tock, Mailbox and more. Blue's Big Pajama Party, a
company-wide promotion, is scheduled for October 1999. In addition
to a prime time special, Nickelodeon will support it with promotional
partners, special Blue's Big Pajama Party product, online content, and
more.
The initial product line has broken sales records in all categories
including plush, games, books, video and software. And following its
extremely successful 9 month exclusive program with Sears, Blue's
Clues apparel will be available at department stores and mid-tier
retailers beginning October 1st and will launch at mass in January 2000.
Nickeloden & BLUE'S CLUES GOES WORLDWIDE!
-----------------------------------------
MEXICO!!!
---------
Nickelodeon, signed a deal with Televisa, the leading broadcaster in
Mexico, to launch Nickelodeon's first branded, broadcast television
programming block in Mexico. The two-hour branded block began
broadcast on Canal 5 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, July 12, 1999.
Transmitted in Spanish, Monday through Friday, the block will launch
with four Nickelodeon animated series-Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, Aaahh!!!
Real Monsters and Rocko's Modern Life. At a later date, the
programming block will also feature the animated series Angry Beavers
and The Ren & Stimpy Show and live-action programs The Adventures of
Pete and Pete, Clarissa and The Journey of Allen Strange. Additionally,
Televisa has licensed broadcast rights to Blue's Clues, the popular
educational program for pre-schoolers, and Animorphs, a live-action
science fiction program produced by Scholastic Productions for
Nickelodeon. These programs will be broadcast outside of the block.
UK!!!
-----
Nick Jr., Nickelodeon's first international channel spin-off of the
popular U.S. and U.K. programming blocks dedicated to young kids,
launched on September 1st in the UK. This marks the world's first
channel dedicated to young kids.
The launch of the Nick Jr. channel in the UK exemplifies Nickelodeon's
dedication to providing kids of all ages something that is created
just for them.
Nickelodeon in the UK has established itself as the leading dedicated
children's channel and is the third most watched cable and satellite
channel overall. Nick Jr. has the fastest growing daypart and has
launched as a full-time digital channel.
CANADA!!!
---------
Canada's Television Ontario (TVO), has reached an agreement with
Nickelodeon, the worldwide entertainment brand dedicated to kids,
to broadcast the breakthrough, interactive pre-school show Blue's
Clues began on Tuesday, September 7th.
Blue's Clues will be seen every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at
7:30 a.m. as part of - The Nook, - TVO's highly rated pre-school
block. TVO will employ a multiple viewing strategy with Blue's Clues,
airing the same episode of the program each day, allowing young
viewers to master the games of the particular episode at their own
pace. The multiple viewing strategy is critical to the philosophy and
curriculum of Blue's Clues, as research has proven that preschoolers
learn best through repetition.
The addition of Blue's Clues to TVO's highly rated pre-school block,
TVO Kids Mornings, is sure to excite our viewers and their parents.
TVO is thrilled to be the newest home of Blue's Clues, and to feature
a special appearance by Blue's Clues host Steve at their annual Open
House. Steve will appear on the TVO Kids stage at the TVOntario Open
House, which will be held September 18 at Toronto's Harbourfront
Centre.

From Dreama!
-----
I think they should make more shows like Blue's Clues. My granddaughter
is only 19 months old and can sing the songs along with Steve, even
though she's just reallt beginning to talk. Thanks Steve and everyone
involved with the show, You guys are terrific. Keep up all the great work!
From Jill!
-----
In my AP psychology class (that's right, I WAS a senior in high school
till I graduated in May) we had to make 20 minute review presentations
about assigned chapters in the book to prepare for our final and ap
exam. They were SOOOO boring. So me and my group decided to do ours
(Social Development) as an episode of Blue's Clues. It ended up being
really funny with me and my friend Leslie barking, figuring out what
stage of moral development Slippery Soap is in according to Kohlberg,
analyzing types of play with Blue, and telling Mr. and Mrs. Pepper
about how Paprika would most likely develope. It was great, we
covered ALL the material in the chapter, and got an A+.
(Note: Jill sent us her script and we have it online for anyone that
would like to see it. If you don't have internet access, please let
us know, and we can forward it to you!)
If you have anything you would like to pass along, please let us know!
We love to hear from you! willie-dyllan@geocities.com?subject=Newsletter

For her 13th birthday, (no ones ever too old) She made a pottery peice
that was the shape of blues head (on a ceramic wheel) then when it was
fired it was edible and she painted it blue with blues face on it. Then
in her refrigerator she found Blues Clues apple sauce and it had
instructions of how to make a Blues Clues birthday cake, so she baked
the cake in the pan, and it turned out great! Her friends and her
decorated it as Blues Clues fans would do!
Kristie
-------
Kristie's four year old son had a Blues Clues Party and they made our own party favors.
1. Had his picture taken at Sears with Blue's Clues
2. Took picture to label maker - had labels printed with picture and thank you comments.
(sample Happy 5th birthday - thank you for joining us........
3. Bought plastic bottles - miniature wine bottles.
4. Filled them with Lt.Blue and Dk.Blue jelly beans.
5. Mailed them to family members and grandparents that could not attend.
These will make great keepsakes.

We had a Blue's Clues birthday party for our 4-year old and used many
ideas from your site. Again, thank you. I thought I'd give you the
"order" of the party that we used in case something like this might
help other people in planning their party.
Arrival:
Draw Blue's pawprint in blue facepaint on each child as he/she arrives.
Take a picture of each child in the Big Red Thinking Chair holding a
stuffed Blue (We created a Thinking Chair by covering a large wing
chair with red knit fabric). Send this picture with the Thank-you
note later.
Tape on a shape to each child and his corresponding gift for present
matching for the birthday child during Present Time (we cut simple
shapes out of different colored construction paper).
Game Time:
We played three games. In between each, my husband played "Steve's
friend, Bryan" and the children all looked for Blue's Clues (The
question was, "What does Darien want to do next?" and the clues
were a bow, a box, and a picture of my daughter - open presents).
Pin the flag on mailbox
Shovel and pail beanbag toss
Musical pawprints (I enlarged a picture of Blue's pawprint then
made two patterns, one for the outside of the pawprint and one
for the inside pads of his paw. I then cut out pawprints from
two shades of blue construction paper for the children to sit on.
They were attached to the floor with masking tape).
Present Time:
Sing "Present Time" song.
Match shape on gift to giver.
Departure:
Play animal charades.
Give certificate stating that each child figured out Blue's Clues
(tied with blue ribbon).
Goodie bag.
We had a lot of fun with this, and the children were really engaged.
It worked really well to mix up the games and looking for Blue's Clues.
