5 Years !

On April the 12th, 1992, Eurodisneyland opened its gates to visitors. In 1997, the park, now named Disneyland Paris, celebrated its 5th anniversary with special events during the entire year. Here are the things that made this year special in Disneyland Paris :

• The Sleeping Beauty Castle : colored bonnets & little rings on the towers of the Castle for all the year.

• The Gargoyles Square : the friendly gargoyles of the Hunchback of Notre Dame were on high bells in front of the Castle. When you entered them, you could play melodies.

• The Music & the Magic : At Discoveryland, in Videopolis, a new show featuring Disney's classical movies.

• the Hunchback of Notre Dame - Carnival of fools : every day, a fantastic parade with 150 dancers, actors & characters from the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

• Festival of Flowers : in spring, between 12th april and 15 june.

• To be part of the magic : the 12th april was unveiled an alley whose paving stones bear the names of famous people, or maybe yours ! The stones are octogonal, in red brick or granite.

And the birthday came ! On the 12th of April, kids were invited to the birthday party, kids who were 5 years old too on that day, and kids from all over Europe. A great parade happened, with artists from all Europe, and the happy birthday song was sung by Barbara Hendricks. Many VIP were there too.
