Rex rabbits are known for their plush-like fur, and it was because of their fur Rexes were the origenal "Velveteen Rabbit". They come usually in three basic colors, brown, black, rusty, and white with brown and black spots, known as, the Spotted Rex (shown above). And like all rabbits, if the fur gets wet, and is not dried off within a short amount of time the rabbit might catch pneumonia or a cold, so put your hutch close to a building so it will be sheltered in case there is a storm.
Because of their velvet like fur Rexes were the origenal "Velveteen Rabbit". I have one of the breed shown above and I deffinatly think that he is the best bunny I've ever had!
