Sailor Moon 1, Act 2: Amy a.k.a. Sailor Mercury

In a dark castle somewhere, a woman is looking into a crystal ball. She says, “You still haven’t found the Silver Imperium Crystal.” She is talking to a short-haired man bowing before her (who is the same man from before), who apologizes. She tells him that their “great master” has commanded them to collect energy and find the Silver Imperium Crystal. The short-haired man says he is aware of this, and states that as a warrior for the Dark Kingdom, “I, Jadeite, will not fail you, Queen Beryl!”
In Bunny’s house, she has just arrived home with the kitty. Bunny’s mom (Ikuko) says hi to the “crescent moon bald spotted kitty.” Luna immediately scratches Bunny’s mom’s face, while Bunny tells her that her name is Luna, not bald-spotted kitty. As she goes into her room, Bunny’s appetite is spoiled by Luna staring at her and, annoyed, she asks if Luna is there to keep an eye on her. Luna says no, Bunny is a brand-new Champion of Justice and there’s still a lot of stuff to teach her before another enemy appears. Bunny says no way, enemies scare her—but she asks who the enemy is. Luna replies only that they are not human and are evil. She goes on to say that they’ve got to find Bunny’s fellow warriors and then protect the princess. Bunny is thinking about how cool a princess would be, when she remembers Tuxedo Mask. Excited, she asks Luna if maybe Tuxedo Mask and Sailor V are fellow warriors too. Glaring, Luna says that she thinks she’s found the second soldier.
While Bunny is asleep, Luna is in a computer lab somewhere inside the Crown Arcade, tapping on a computer. The screen shows a picture of a fourteen-year-old girl with short hair, whose name is Amy (Ami).
The next day, the same girl from the computer screen is seen outside. Whispers around her reveal her to be the “Girl Genius” who always gets top scores in school, and her IQ is rumored to be 300. Bunny sees her and is impressed. She joins her friends (Molly, Yumi, and Melvin) who are talking about Amy. Melvin says she goes to that snobby cram school, Crystal Academy. Molly and Yumi think that Amy is snobby too because all she does is study and she never hangs out at all. After school, Bunny is moaning about her latest scores and how they’re so low her mother is going to yell at her. Just as she notices Amy the Girl Genius in front of her, Luna leaps onto Amy’s head. Bunny gasps as Amy begins to pet Luna and she realizes that Amy isn’t snobby at all. Luna jumps back onto Bunny, who says she hopes Luna didn’t hurt her. Amy says that her kitty is an angel. As Bunny thinks “Luna...an angel?” Amy blushes. Bunny says, “Your name’s Amy, right? I’m Bunny. Luna’s the kitty’s name.” A devilish look comes over Bunny as she thinks to herself that if she makes friends with Amy, she might teach her the secret to getting straight A’s. At this point, Luna runs off, but Bunny asks Amy if she likes video games. They go to the arcade and begin playing the Sailor V game. After Bunny runs out of money, Amy begins to play. She proves to be very good, and she quickly gets the highest score ever. Suddenly a pen pops out of the machine as a prize, and Amy takes it. Bunny wants one too, and she kicks the machine until another pen pops out for her too. As Andrew yells at her for nearly breaking it, Bunny asks Amy if she wants to be friends, and Amy says sure. Suddenly, Amy realizes she’s late for cram school—she wants to be a doctor like her mom.
At Amy’s cram school, the students are using computers and special study disks to help them. The teacher comes over to Amy and tells her that she has high hopes for her—they need geniuses like her to build tomorrow’s world, so she must keep raising her level. Amy agrees (a bit mechanically).
The next day, Bunny’s friends are talking about Crystal Academy, the new cram school. They say all the classes use computers, and they give you a study disk that’s really fun to use.
At Amy’s cram school, she isn’t using the disk to help her study, because note-taking is what she’s used to. Just then, Bunny drops by Amy’s classroom (which is empty except for Amy) and asks Amy why she’s still studying when class is over. Then she exclaims that Amy’s using her new pen and shows her that she’s using hers, too and asks if Amy wants to go get some ice cream. Just then, two students brush by Bunny, saying that they need to get to Crystal Academy. The words of Amy’s teacher echo in Amy’s mind and she says she needs to get to Crystal too. Just then Luna appears, and Bunny tells her that Amy just blew her off. Then she notices a disk on Amy’s desk and realizes that Amy must have dropped it. They go outside, where Amy’s teacher is handing out flyers about the “secret study method,” which involves using the computer disk. Bunny takes a flyer, reads it (it has Amy’s picture on it), then decides it isn’t for her, crumples it up and tosses it behind her--right into the same guy she threw her quiz into last time. Angrily, he asks “Miss Pig-tails” if he looks like a trash can. Bunny turns around and blushes slightly as Luna cries out “You’re the guy from...” but she is interrupted as he asks if he just heard that cat talk. Bunny sweatdrops and says no, of course not and hurries away, her heart thumping as the guy watches her. To his surprise, he is handed a flyer for the study disk.
Meanwhile, Bunny and Luna are in the computer lab, and Luna decides to check out the disk because it gives her a funny feeling. They put the disk in, and immediately the screen goes blank and a voice comes out of the computer telling anyone who hears it to obey the great master and find the Silver Imperium Crystal. Luna realizes that the enemy is using this disk to brainwash people. Somewhere else, the guy is also testing the disk he received. As Luna and Bunny step out into the street, they see brainwashed students heading towards Crystal. Luna tells Bunny to use the pen she received from the Sailor V game to morph. Bunny says she didn’t know she could use it for that. She throws the pen in the air and shouts “Moon Power! Morph into a doctor!” Bunny turns into a doctor and hurries to Amy’s cram school. She sees Amy looking dizzy and runs over to her, slapping her lightly so she’ll snap out of it. The teacher is in the classroom, smiling evilly and thinking that with her brainwash disk and that brilliant girl [Amy]’s brains, she can get the Silver Imperium Crystal. Bunny in her doctor’s costume comes into the classroom, telling everyone to get away from the computers before they become zombies. As the monster-teacher asks who she is, Luna tells Bunny to transform. She does (but not before complaining that she has to fight again), and then the monster-teacher throws a whole bunch of sharp exam papers at Sailor Moon, but she uses one of her hair ornaments to pin the papers down. Just then, even more papers come flying at her and they give Sailor Moon tons of paper cuts. In pain, she begins to wail shrilly again and Luna tells her to stop crying because her shrieks are terrible and help Amy. Sailor Moon agrees and sees Amy in the clutches of the monster-teacher, who is asking why she isn’t brainwashed. Amy says she doesn’t need a disk to study. Luna suddenly tells Amy to use the pen she got from the machine, and wave it high. The pen is in Amy’s front pocket and it begins to glow with a brilliant light as the symbol of Mercury appears on Amy’s forehead, making the monster’s body get cold. The room is suddenly filled with fog, and Sailor Moon can’t see a thing. Suddenly the monster’s nails grow longer and sharper, and it is about to go after Sailor Moon when she uses a “Sailor Moon Kick” attack which hits the monster. She is caught by Tuxedo Mask, who has arrived once again. Sailor Moon’s heart is thumping as they look into each other’s eyes for a second before he puts her, blushing, back on the ground and says it’s time to save her friend. The monster is about to go after Sailor Moon again when she uses her “Moon Frisbee” attack, which destroys the monster. Sailor Moon looks around for Tuxedo Mask, but he’s disappeared. Just then, the fog begins to clear and Amy is now wearing a sailor suit, too. Sailor Moon is shocked as Luna says that it was just as she thought, Amy is the water warrior who uses fog and the Protector of Mercury, Sailor Mercury! Amy is shocked to find out that she, too is a Sailor Soldier. Bunny is happy that Amy’s part of their group.
