I hope you are still with me. We're almost done.
I AM JUST A KID WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP?
This is a wonderful question! There are lots of things kids can do to help and in doing some of them, YOU can make a difference.
RECYCLE! What this means is: Some of the things you use, can be used again, such as Glass bottles, tin cans, aluminum cans, plastic milk and soda bottles, newspapers, white paper such as notebook paper and papers that are used in offices, cardboard and styrofoam containers. Don't throw them in the trash, put them in a special container for collection at your curb on trash day, or find where in your neighborhood these things can be taken.
Find and join a group with your mom and dad that helps to raise money to plant new trees.
Gather all your friends, sisters and brothers to start your own "save the rainforests" group by reading all that you can about the trees in your area.
Grow some new trees from seeds you find in your neighborhood and find an area that you think would be good for the trees to grow, unharmed. Before you do any planting anywhere, please be sure to get permission from the person who owns the land!
Adopt a tree in your neighborhood. It would be your special tree that you would watch in the summer, giving it water when it needs it and in the winter, watching for branches that might have been broken from heavy snow and letting someone know when you think your tree is hurt or sick. You probably have a local conservation group in your area to notify.
Think of ways your group could raise money to save the forests.
Tell everyone you know about how important it is to save our rainforests. A good way to do this is to give a report in class at your school, write an article for your school newspaper.
Don't carve things into trees or put nails or other sharp things into them.
If a tree branch must be cut off a tree, ask the person who is cutting it off to seal it with black paint or tar to prevent it from getting infections and dying.
Ride your bike when you can so mom and dad don't have to use gas to drive there, but please get permission from your parents before you ride your bike anywhere. Above all, I want you to be safe!!
Use things that have been made from recycled products such as tissues, paper towels and things like that. Look for the words, "made from recycled products" on the tags or if you see arrows in a circle, which I will have at the bottom of the page for you to see, that also means it's been made from recycled products.
Re-use paper or plastic bags.
Try not to buy things like souvenirs or other things that have been made from the tropical woods.
These are just some of the ways you can help. I'm sure you can think of others and if you can, please sign my guestbook telling me what you do to help.

Most of the graphics on this page used were made for use ONLY on my pages. Please be kind and do not take them.
This many people have visited the rainforest 3.
