MOMMA You have stood up on the deck In the sunshine and the rain; Even when the storms got rough, You stood there just the same; Then the boat swayed recklessly, And you toppled and you fell; Although it hurt so bad, And you thought you were in hell; You were still able to be strong. You pushed through the heavy water, And stood back up on the deck; Right then you became much stronger. You looked up and saw the sun rising And behind it a bright rainbow; The days got better one by one, And little did you know that this day is a special one; Because You're finally shown your loved! I wrote this poem for my dear mother when I was about 16. It is a poem about what I, put that poor woman through. She has had to clean up my messes time and time again, ( and God knows I've had some big ones). I thank the Lord every night for giving me to her. I hope she knows how much she is appreciated and loved. She is an exceptional woman and my inspiration! |
