Diddley's Friends and Family


Hi again! Here is where you can meet and find out a little about some of my dinosaur friends. I'll show you a picture and tell you who they are.

3 horned This is a another picture of me, Diddley, that you read about on the first page.




Acanthopholis My first friend here is "Canny" He is a ACANTHOPHOLIS which means "Spiney Scales" that were set in his skin.
He also had spikes on his neck. Just like me, he lived in the Cretaceous period, 115-91 millions years ago and was a herbivore - meaning he ate plants,
low lying plants though because he was only 15 feet long.
I don't know how much he weighed, but I'm so sad that he wasn't the smartest dino around because his brain was very small compared to his body.






Velociraptor Here is "Val". She is a VELOCIRAPTOR, also known as a "speedy thief"! She too lived in the cretaceous period 85-80 million years ago.
She was very smart but also a deadly predator. She was about 6 feet long and 3 feet tall and a carnivore - meaning a meat eater. Her 30 teeth were curved and very sharp. On each foot she had long claw that looked like a sickle.





Brachiosaurus Say hello to "Brach" the BRACHIOSAURUS, also known as "arm lizard". He is a Sauropod and one of the tallest. Doesn't he look a little like a giraffe?
He weighed 50-80 tons, was 40-50 feet tall and about 85 feet long. He walked on all four feet and with his long neck ate tops of trees, making him an herbivore like "Canny" and me.
Because Brach's neck was so long he suffered from very high blood pressure and like Canny, he also had a rather small brain.





T-Rex This is "Rexxie". He really wasn't very nice to me but I liked him anyway! He is a TYRANNOSAURUS REX, sometimes called, T-Rex. He lived with me and Canny and Val in the Cretaceous Period.
He was one of the largest of all the carnivors, that means he was a meat eater, like Val. He weighed 5-7 tons, was almost 50 feet long and about 20 feet high.
He was known as a "Tyrant Lizard King" and he was very smart!





ApatosaurusDon't let "Pat" step on you! He is a APATOSAURUS and was also called a BRONTOSAURUS before.
He was one of the largest dinosaurs on the earth, weighing 30-40 tons! Perhaps he was the largest animal EVER on the earth.
He was 70-95 feet long and for some strange reason his nostrils were on top of his head. Like Canny, Brach and me, he was a herbivore.
He lived in the Jurassic period 157-146 million years ago and is a sauropod. Like Brach, he too had high blood pressure because of his long neck.
His brain was very tiny compared to his body, so he wasn't very smart either.
