Protection from the baddies
Basic concepts
- There are 3 alignments on aardwolf
- Good:(Golden aura)A cuddly Poohbear is the cutest thing on the mud!
- Neutral:A neutral creature has no color aura
- Evil:(Red Aura)This mean monster wants to eat up Pooh
- Protection from Good means (duh!) you take less damage from Good align creatures
- Protection from evil and Inertial barrier reduce damage from Evil mobs and players
Intermediate level tips
- Mobs have Prot_Good and Prot_Evil too. Most mobs above lvl 130 or so have it.
- Therefore, many players "go neutral", to maximize damage done.
This is especially important against players (wars, PK, and raiding)
A small problem is that you will get less exp when neutral than if opposite in alignment.
- Protection good and Protection evil cannot BOTH be cast at the same time.
- But you CAN cast Inertial barrier AFTER you cast protection good.
Advanced level tips
Aligment Category
-1000 to -350 Evil
-349 to 349 Neutral
350 to 1000 Good
- Note that the calculation of experience is on a sliding scale
Alignment of 349 and -349 does the same damage through prot_good,
but makes a difference in the exp from a mob of 1000 align.
Practically speaking....
- Alignment rarely matters until about level 80-100, except in wars.
- If you don't have both Prot_good and Inertial, many clans sell it in a potion.
(Twinlobe has a level 26 potion with spells of: 'protection good' 'inertial barrier' 'haste'.)
(You can either join the clan and get it, or win it through public trivia. Or raid for it :P)
- The vampiric flag (-1 align per lifedrain) on weapons is hardly significant on alignment.
- The vampiric staff from irini sengir r rox. (Go play with it :-)
- Certain spells (eg dispel good, holy word) work only on specific alignments.
For the most part, they're too troublesome and they sux. :P
