Extra tips for your own clan defense
Clan roles
- Coordinator: The most experienced clannie, unless he's lagged to pieces. Low level is fine
- Sentry: Sits outside the clan door to watch raiders and warn clan when raider is ready.
- Guards : High level players
- Jailors : If you plan on opening jail doors to let allies out.
Should have some experience, and be ready to suicide. Make space in inv.
- The rest : Heal/spellup the guards, or stay out of the way.
(RAIDER) flags
- Endeavour to give the enemy (RAIDER) flags
They get this when you attack them, or they trade with the shopkeeper
- Allies can then attack them ANYWHERE, and they lose more exp(400exp) when they die.
- Area-attack spells (gas,earthquake) are good to
(1)draw all the raiders into combat (if you're a tough SH :)
(2)Give out lots of raider flags
- Earthquake/Meteor/Ice storm goes through antimagic.
Gas breath,etc. won't engage an anti-magiced player.
- NEVER cast area-attack spells when allies in the same room are not grouped with you.
It gives THEM raider flags.
A bit about AIR/FLY
- Many clans now have their maze flagged as "air" sectors
- One reason for this is so that corpses float down (usually into jail)
- The other reason is that you need to FLY to move in air sectors.
- Therefore, if defenders removed fly, they could not be intimidated.
- While this applied to raiders, raiders had a hard time cancelling fly,
as they would get aggroed immediately by the guards.
- Broadly speaking, it is to your advantage to LAND at all times.
- Most raiders will LAND and WEB. Therefore FLY and DISSOLVE them before intimming.
Neat tricks
- Try to figure out who the raider leader is. If you intimidate him, the rest will follow.
- NB: Smart raiders will follow someone who DOESN'T invade, eg the fido-er.
- The same repop rules apply - if the clan hall is empty, the guards repop faster.
Wounded guards (even at 1hp) DON'T repop. Heal them or kill them.
- Group with a similar level clannie, and turn off autoassist.
Go into the guard room, and take turns to intimidate, rescue and heal.
- Low level cancellation pills/potions work great to cancel fly.
- There is a lag on the invade command.
On the other hand, you won't see raiders enter if they "sneak".
- Antimagic scrolls on raiders may sound stupid, but then they can't web themselves....
Illegal tricks
- spam opening/closing doors
- herbaling/cure poisoning raiders (non-raider flagged) outside the door
- Killing your own key guard(to get rid of the key) MAY be illegal.
After the raid
- Ensure allies have all their corpses and stuff back
- Sweep the maze to pickup stuff and ensure doors are locked
- Post a polite note thanking allies
- Get a leader to check if the clan key has gotten out
