About the map

This is a schematic diagram of the "defense" part of the clan hall. Lines connecting the rooms may be doors, random exits, one way, or portals. Clandefense rooms can be flagged "no_portal no_recall", meaning the only way you're gonna get out is to (1)navigate the maze or (2)get killed

First room

This is the first room after you type "invade " Sometimes this is the main guard room (ie. lots of mobs pounding on you :) (Just because you can't "scan" them doesn't mean they're aren't there) It may be an air sector (need FLY to move in and out), or dark (need a light) The exits will lead to the guard room usually, or sometimes to the maze Finally, there may not be an exit back out, so beware! :)

Guard room

Most clans have a "main" guard room. Guards are standardized these days, as lvl 220 maxxed guards, but there is no limit to the number of guards per room. There will be at least 1 guard with a key that you need to enter the clan. In case you think it's easy, this is normally how I explain it to newbies : "Imagine yourself fighting 15 Ivars, with 2 more SHs pounding on you."

The maze

The maze design varies a lot between clans. The aim is principally to increase the chance of raiders ending up in jail, and also secondarily to delay them. A good maze will maximize this, taking into account the use of jailsitters, maze markers, hunt, and so on. Random exits, locked doors, portals, and more guards are all part of this.

Jail

Go directly to jail, do not pass Go. Sound familiar? :) This is a bad place to be, no matter who you are. There is a door to Temple of Mota, unlocked by the clan's clan-transporter. Some clans have rooms, where the only way out is suicide, or a special key.

The end room

Another room not found in all clans. It's generally led to by portals and/or a locked door, with the key on a clan guard. After this is simply the main clan hall.

There's a shopkeeper in here somewhere. Raiders like this guy. :) Some clans design the main hall for defense too.
