B. Physical Adaptations

1. body structure- outer body changes- bird's feet.

2. internal adaptations- inside the body- temperature

3. breathing- respiration- gills in fish

a. human respiration adaptation- people who live in high altitudes have larger hearts and more red blood cells

4. behavioral -reaction to stimulus- screaming when threatened

5. mating- attract members of the opposite sex- grasshoppers rubbing their legs together

6. protective- defending oneself or others from attack-
