arney is a lurid creature who loves to wake up beautiful young women by scratching with his fangs at the window-panes of their bedrooms ehile they sleep - imitating with his nails the noise of hail beating against the glass, for his prefrence is to attack on stormy nights.
His face is perfectly white and perfectly bloodless. Hislook like polished tin and when he draws back his lips, fearful teeth are displayed, projecting like those of some wild animal - hideous and glaringly white and fang-like. His nails literally hang from the finger-ends, and he likes to clash them together producing a hair-raising sound that paralyzes the victim.
His awful, metaallic-looking eyes are as hypnotic as those of a serpent; his strength is superhuman.
Varney enjoys most of the pleasures of profaning a young woman's beautifully rounded limbs employing the hideous manliness of his own body while making a dreadfull sucking noise, drinking blood from the side of the victims neck.
After feeding, hid face becomes hideously flushes with the color of fresh blood,and his eyes have a savege and remarkable luster. Whereas before they shone like metal, after the attack they are ten times brighter and flashes of light seem to dart from them.Varney can be recognized also from the dreadful howling that issues from his throat.
