One of My Homeschool Science Project
My Chicks were hatched on March 14, 1999.
We got one dozen pullets: five Araucanas, two Light Brahmas,
one Golden Lace Wyandotte, two Black Australorp, one
New Hampshire Red, and one Buff Orpington...
Purchased from: Phyllis at 'Johnsen's Farm & Country Store' in Elburn IL.
2 turned out to be roosters a Black Australorp and a Buff Orpington.
First eggs from chicks laid on August 16, 1999.
They were all green Auracana eggs.
The Auracana eggs are suppose to be better for you.

September 29 - I am so sad because my chickens
died, a fox got them.
He killed 9 hens and 1 rooster and broke one hen's leg.
The Buff Orpington with the broken leg is healing
in a small cage.

October 1 Fox came back but this time
our dogs were there
and we did not loose any more chickens and we won't have any more fox trouble.
