It's hard for me to be objective with this album since it's the one that stole my heart, but I shall try!
American Teenage Rock 'n' Roll Machine is one of the best pieces of work since the Rubik's Cube! It stands for sex, drugs and Rock 'n' Roll, and rocks out with every tune! It's the musically documented life of your typical teen, and these four Donnas are certainly not ashamed of being stereotypes for it. Debuting with their own original material under The Donnas, former Donnas fans surely won't be dissapointed. Their music now shows more edge and definatly more style.
At a first listen, this album draws you in and makes you wanna dance. Featuring songs like "Rock 'n' Roll Machine" and "You Make Me Hot", The Donnas have achieved their walkway straight into the hall of fame. Donna R.'s love of Ace Frehley is definatly distinctive now, and with a twist of her own style it only makes the house rock even harder!!
The production on all 10 (less than The Donnas Self Titled, I know, but still equally as valueable) songs is suburb quality, and the songs are good competition! This album has quite an impressive array of talents from these then-teenagers, and once you pop it in, you'll never wanna take it out!
Do NOT pass this one up. If you're just thinking about buying a Donnas album, make this one your first choice, because it certainly deserves the money you'll be paying for it! The Donnas have done it again!
