  • The Serve
    greetings boys and girls.

first i would like to thank Y/you for taking the time to allow me to share this with you. if Y/you take one small thing from this article, then i have accomplished my goal. another thing i would like to say is something my Master has expessed to me. i have found it very important for U/us practicing the D/s Lifestyle on the Internet. it is important to remember why you are a sub. you are here to bring honor to your Master, and through this, you will find much happiness. if you will serve or play with just A/anyone then you will forever be shamed, and never feel full as a sub. what you offer is sacred, it is meant to be pleasing and enjoyable. if E/everyone takes pleasure in that, the special part of what you are is soiled and not left for your Master/Mistress. remember, you represent your Master/Mistress whether He/She is there or not. you are a part of Him/Her, and a treasure to be loved and cared for.

another important thing, understanding that it is impossible to be silent, it is courteous to keep the talking down to a minimum during a serve. as a sub, you have worked hard to paint a picture for A/all watching. respecting and honoring other's, as well as your own work, is a must. be respectful......honor those putting forth effort to be good subs. most Masters/Mistresses will comment on the serve, this is suggested. it helps to confirm that what the sub is doing is pleasing to their Master or Mistress. please feel free to do this also. as sisters and brothers, we need to support each other.

next, this page is made for helping with the basic serve and it's parts as well as a little description. P/people are taught differently at different sites, yet there is usually an under layer in which they are similar.

first of all, the basic serve doesn't come in steps at all. the basic serve is a list of actions, not numbered as they can sometimes be mixed around such as repeating the order before one rises vs. repeating the order after one rises from the furs. the list becomes more and more complicated as one learns about serving starting so simplistically with simple movement such as stepping to the servery or through the servery and retrieving a plate or vessel.

the serve gets more complicated as we begin to break it down, mentioning more and requiring it to be so as one moves up silks. in the most basic of serve, one might not even repeat the order given out loud instead they go through the motions of it and then repeat the drink at the end of the serve.

a serve can be done only in odd numbered posts. the least number being 3 posts and the most being 9 posts. in most chats it is normally 5 and 7 post serves. there are two ways to measure whether a 5 or 7 post serve is right for you...

one way is typing speed: it depends on how fast a typist you are. if you are a fast typist then go with a five post serve, this serve is less posts yet you can put the same information without boring the Master (or Mistress) by having to wait. a seven post serve is for a slower typist as then they can still do a good serve and with more posts they don't take quite as long. the other way is description: if you write novels go with 7 post *giggles, this is me*, it will give you less to write about and thus shorten the post. if you are less interested in description and more into speed, a 5-post serve will do fine. some days it just depends on how a sub is feeling and how much time they have, sometimes a 5 post with light description is all one can do.

now first, we break down the serve....

repeat order, if anything was forgotten ask (warm or cold?), rise, walk to servery, walk to shelf, climb/reach to top shelf, get vessel, get down, check and clean vessel, describe vessel, go to coolery, retrieve drink, walk away from shut door to coolery and walk away from it, walk to Master/Mistress, kneel, serve. lots and lots of steps and i may even have left some out *smiles*. Now, these steps are then placed into the number of posts done for the serve.
    5 post:

1.repeat order, if anything was forgotten ask warm or cold? 2.rise, walk to servery.
3.walk to shelf, climb/reach to top of shelf, get vessel, check and clean vessel.
    4.retrieve drink, walk away
5.walk to Master/Mistress and kneel, present and Serve.

    7 post:
1.repeat order, if anything was forgotten ask (warm or cold?), rise, walk to servery.
2.walk to shelf, climb/reach to top of shelf, get vessel.
    3.clean and check vessel.
    4.walk to the coolery
    5.retreive drink, walk away.
    6.walk to Master/Mistress and kneel.
    7.serve.

now the biggest and most important thing in a serve is the serving of the drink itself. the serve tells of a girl's devotion to serving, the pleasure she feels within it, and her desire to continue serving. the simplistic form of the ritual of serving comes down to the presentation:

bringing the goblet to your belly.
    wait 3 seconds.
bring the goblet to your heart.
    wait 3 heartbeats.
ask if they wish their drink tasted.
bring the goblet to your lips.
kiss the rim, taste the liquid.
    wait 5 seconds.
    say a prayer.
lift goblet to Master/Mistress, lowering your head between outstretched arms.

then there is the symbolism: bring the goblet to your belly, feeling the burning of fire within dancing there. it sings of what she is ... sub ... three seconds pass. bring the goblet to your heart, the heart dancing within with the passion and desire to be pleasing ... for there within is her purpose ... to serve ... three heart beats pass ...

at this point as if they want the vessel tested for poisons. if so, lift the goblet to your lips, kiss the rim, let a drop of liquid fall onto your tongue, wait five seconds ... no poison ... say a prayer of good health for the Master/Mistress, offer drink, head down ... say that you offer Them this drink and hope they enjoy it.

Now a few tips from what I have seen in some serves that could get better or need correcting. *s*

some girls/boys are good with description but are sometimes not good at keeping it a fluid post; i.e. she walked to the door silently. she picked her way through the servery to the shelves. she stopped at the shelves to find a goblet for the Mistress.

this could be pretty if put together, but it is just the word "she" in front of every sentence that breaks up the fluidity of the post.

description is covered more fully in later training sessions as description is expected depending on silk colors, but here are a few things to work on:

don't let description take over the post! don't make a paragraph about a leg or an arm or a face.

be realistic, not every serve is perfect, mind the world around you, perhaps the coolery door is stuck or the goblets aren't on the top shelf. remember the floor is cold (and coolery colder), a scantly clad sub WILL feel cold.

description is always a good thing when done properly. don't be overly descriptive of yourself, it will lead to repeats in future posts.

don't use the same word twice in one post and the same body part twice in two posts (when possible, hands are hard to do that with.)

remember where you are! don't just tell where you are, describe it, what is the
weather like? what are the floors made of? the shelves? the fires of the fireplace move don't they? do you see your breath in the room?

as subs you are here to please and be pleasing, keep this in mind at all times. if a Master/Mistress asks for a mixed drink, you get Him/Her a mixed drink. the Master/Mistress is always right no matter what you have been taught, do whatever
it takes to please them, for you are a submissive, and that is what drives your soul.

    please be well,
