There are nine
International Wildlife magazines dating from 1979 – 1981. These magazines are about 20 years old, yet, many of the articles in them, can provide useful and interesting information about endangered species of yesterday. It also gives us insight about the positive and not so positive things that have happened to these animals since the articles were written.Your task: Choose any four of the magazines provided. See the attached questions that go with each magazine. Read the question, and "skim" to find the answer or answers. Look at titles, captions and beginning sentences of paragraphs. Be sure to "skim" and look at the awesome photos of the entire article.
NOTE TO TEACHERS: My goal was to have the students use a variety of print sources, and since we did not have other more recent wildlife magazines in our resource centre, I used the outdated ones titled above. What we did do is discuss how accurate this information might because of the date, how and why things may or may not have changed, and ways to cross-reference this information.
