NEWS
Congratulations to all of our cadets who took part in our RNI(Royal Navy Inspection) you did the unit proud and we were very pleased to have had Lt Cdr Bearne on his first unit visit doing us the honour of inspectiong our ships company.
We were very pleased to have obtained a burgee this year which shows our dedication and the excellence to which T.S Endeavour aspires to.
On the night of the inspection the Lt. Cdr came to the unit and did an inspection of the Honor Guard before taking part in the colours ceremony, he then proceeded to inspect the ships company and talk to the cadets on an individual basis after this was complete it was time for the fun stuff to start
Each year the cadets are given two tasks in which to demonstrate their skills to the Inspecting Officer.
This year the two themes were:
1. Navigation and rules of the road
2. Cadets and the Local enviroment
During the first evolution the cadets put on a show about the history of navigation and rules of the road. The parents and guests were shown all sorts of instraments which were used during the ages to help sailors navigate the sea.
The second evolution showed off the cadets more sporty side as they showed the parents and guests how we do Physical Training within the Sea Cadet Corp.
First the cadets started with a set of daily exercises (The Royal Navy and Sea Cadet term for a warm-up) showing every-one how to stretch the muscles and get ready for the exercise.
Next the cadets showed every-one the skip-jump routine for the parents which they had prepared for use in a local fete when the need arises, this was met with a very large round of applause by the parents and guests and every-one enjoyed them-selves.
After the fun and games were over it was time to hand out the awards, this year the awards went to:
Best Male Cadet - C Alan M
Best Female Cadet - L/C Downer E
Endeavour Trophy - A/C Randall J
The Endeavour trophy is for the cadet who has tried the most this year but has not won the best male or best female award.
