Dear Sandra,
I have to tell you about the accident, we were driving home at 5:30 p.m.,(3) and of course,(4) we would be on the highway at rush hour when a white F(5)ord smashed us in the rear. Luckily we all had out seatbelts fastened. Dr. Schabbles, who was in the backseat, and Bob,(6) my husband, complained of whiplash;(7) but really we got off with hardly a scratch. The mother__(8)father, and daughter in the white car, however,(9) weren't as fortunate. They ended up with collars and A(10)ce bandages__(11)but their car certainly fared better than ours. The driver of the third vehicle involved in the accident confused everyone. Although her car was in the front of the line, she kept saying, "I hit the white car"!(12) We didn't understand until she told us that a fourth car had hit her in the rear,(13) and pushed her ahead of all the rest. Can you imagine how frustrated we were when we found out that this man, the one who had started it all, had left the scene of the accident? "You were the last car in line,(14)" someone said. "n(15)o, you were," we answered. The P(16)olice O(17)fficer had to reconstruct the disaster from the hopeless babble of eight witnesses. It is uncanny because out of 34, 800 cars on that busy highway on D(18)ecember 30, our car had to be the one in front of that 18 monstrous,(19) white car.
Well, I just wanted to send you a report. I hope your days are less thrilling than mine.

Your friend;(20)

Marie

My brother and I had one purpose in mind. When we visited Everglades National Park in Florida. We wanted to see an alligator with our own eyes on our second day there we spotted a seventeen -foot long creature floating lazily along the channel. We knew by the short , blunt snout that this was it. We kept our distance, this large animal looks slow and sluggish but can move very quickly. The park ranger reminded us. That it's against the law to tease alligators. I found that law easy to obey an alligator will eagerly eat anything it can swallow.
