The Great Barrier Reef, Cairns

Acclaimed as amongst the world's most wonderful assets are the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropical Rainforests in Queensland. The Great Barrier Reef is the longest coral reef in the world and supports an amazing array of colourful tropical fish and coral species within its turquoise seas. Great snorkelling spots can be found as fringing reefs with spectacular corals surround many of the offshore islands. Besides that, the natural barrier created by the Great Barrier Reef provides one of the calmest boating destinations in the world. The coastal region of Eastern Australia is of such pristine beauty and exceptional value that they have been listed by the World Heritage Society.

The rich heritage of Aborigins, Australia

Among the most spectacular manifestations of Aboriginal culture are the ceremonies and dances that are regularly performed in remote Outback Australia. There are festivals, like the yearly ones in Barunga in the north of the Northern Territory and in Yuendumu in the Centre, where different communities come together for a few days of cultural exchange, among others.
