We crossed the French border at the Rhine port of Basel today. Passed the Burgundy wine producing area and agricultural heartland of France, we then head toward north and look for the Eiffel Tower that dominates the skyline as the coach crawled towards Paris. It was evening time when we reached Paris. This evening, we took an optional glittering "Paris by Night" tour with a romantic cruise along the Seine River. It was drizzling then and the wind was pretty cold.

This morning's sightseeing of this splendid city starts with a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral, Napoleon's Arc de Troimphe, the Louvre Museum (this was where the Mona Lisa's painting is kept) and the magnificent Eiffel Tower, with entrance to level 1.
