Tracking is the monitoring of personnel's job performance as well as his feelings about the job. The folliwing are the monitoring techniques [STAR] usually used: Performance Factors. Two basic factors are considered during performance evalution / tracking: Job Performance, how the ratee acts and Personality Factors, why does the ratee acts. Raters' Errors. During the conduct of performance evaluation, because of the subjectivity of the rater, evaluation might be biased because of the following:
2. Central Tendency, raters do not use the extremes of the rating scale but tend to give average ratings. 3. Leniency, raters tend to give disproportionate number of favorable rating ratee. Measure vs Person, do not measure the person, but rather measure the person's contribution to the achievement of a goal. Categories of Qualities of Performance. Although each corporate entity devises their own categories, numeric or alphanumeric, they fall under the following:
2. Commendable, job results clearly surpass expectations for all major obejectives and requirements. 3. Proficient, job results surpass some major objectives and mets the requirements for others. 4. Acceptable, gets the job done by achieving all major objectives and job requirements. 5. Needs Improvement, gets the job done with considerable direction and guidance. Results fall short of some requirements while meeting others. 6. Unacceptable, does not get the job done even with considerable direction and guidance. |
