++Anaris Campaign Rules++

This month we kick off Anaris after a long while! Now, these rules have been simplified after trying too complex a system. We will begin this come this month (August 30th 2002) as we have our first meet. The map will be drawn and put here for all to see and information about these things will be provided in the Forum as the MapMaster update it.

Preliminaries:
Players will have to nominate the Race of their armies represented on the first region we are playing: Glades of Yrmgaril. Following that, all players are to report to me via email so that I can compile a preliminary list of players against race. Please include in it your email address and ICQ number.

Each player will be given a span of a month to play the battle which he encounters with another player. The results together with a short story write-up must then be sent to the MapMaster for that turn for consolidating. All Building Points are to be tabulated, reinforcements added (if the player decides to), experience points calculated and handed to the MapMaster electronically through the Forum. The initial 3 Turns will be done by me as the locations are not all that crucial and to maintain coherency in what we are doing.

Map:
Location of each player is determined by the player and marked on the map. This map will be updated from time to time as the players move across the map. [refer to map] Location is based on a grid system.

MapMaster:
This player will be the campaign convenor for that particular Turn and will be in charged of receiving movement orders from the players. This importance will be highlighted later as movement is described below. Each player will get a chance of being the MapMaster and will have access to all movement information. The MapMaster may use the information to his advantage before making his moves as payment for his work for that particular Turn. The MapMaster is responsible for the checking and compilation of all data before the end of the Turn (tentatively a month once).

Territories:
Each Territory will yield 100 Building Points (BP) to the owner of that territory. A player has to just move his army over it to claim it as his. Note that a player does not need to leave any of his detachments there but it would be advisable since all it takes is another player to "brush" this territory without opposition and it will be lost.

Building Points (BP):
These points are used to reinforce each players main force. Each territory will offer a player 100BP. The total BP per turn is calculated by the MapMaster and uploaded into the forum. This is the amount you as the player is allowed to reinforce your main army with. All unused points will be kept in a storage category and can be called upon. Please assist the MapMaster by including all details of game in the form given [Refer to template-copy and paste this template into the forum and fill in details]

Movement:
Each Player will get to move 3 Detachments of his army (can be of varying sizes). Detachments refer to armies in of at least 500 points or more. This limitation is to encourage players to think of their movement phases on the carefully before committing his army. Wrong movements could lead to detachments being cut off.

The player will nominate his next Territory of the Map in his EMAIL to the MapMaster personally. This is crucial as others might utilise this information to capitalise on small detachments thus leading to a very one sided battle. The new positions for the players will be revealed by the MapMaster at the end of the Turn to everyone on the Forum.

Battles:
These will be fought when armies of different players meet on the same territories after Movement has been concluded and the MapMaster discloses the Movements. The Victor shall write the report and submit it to the MapMaster through the Forum [refer to template]. The appearance of the form in the Forum will constitute a battle played and all players will bear witness to the outcome. The MapMaster will take over from there.

As each battle is fought, the army list must then be uploaded to the Forum for all to see. This is to maintain transparency.

Reinforcements:
These will come in at the end of each Turn and can be deployed in any of the Territories belonging to the player. However, a limitation is that the Territory has to have a detachment of at least 500 points with the basic 1 HQ and 2 Troops requirement.

Amendments:
Each unit that the player creates will have kind of like ROSTER cards. Then the player can choose when to draw these roster cards to create a list to fight. At any one time, the player can only pop down ONE of that unit. We can imagine that the commanders choose to send their best troopers to the most dire circumstances only. You can just send them into dying battles, but that will mean you will lose them and it will take some time before you can muster such a unit with that much experience again.

In the event that three armies or more clash in a territory, the defender has to partake in whatever battle until he is left with no more units. The defender may however, send reinforcements. The attackers can choose to attack first or second but the player that decides to attack second will have to wait for the next turn to attack. This will still constitute a ‘Move’ therefore allowing him another 2 more detachment moves.

If a player loses his home territory, he loses the ability to generate reinforcements. (Comes into effect on Turn 3)
