The
Monlith certainly sounds like it'll live up to its name - in other words,
it's damn big and tough. It will apparently have armour 14 all round and
has a "Living Metal" special rule that means chainfists, monstrous
creatures or multi-meltas don't get extra penetration dice. It also isn't
destroyed if immobilised like normal skimmers, it instead drifts the ground
and can't move.
You'll already have heard of the new Necron units but probably nothing
of what they can do. Wraiths are a fast attack close combat unit that
is able to phase through terrain, armour and even bullets (presumably
meaning they get at least a semi-decent save). The mighty Pariahs have
strength and toughness 5, a 3+ save and are immune to psychic powers.
They also carry Gauss Blasters and Phase Blades that of course ignore
armour and even invulnerable saves.
1)
Necron Wraiths will have a 3+ invulnerable save, with 1 wound, and three
attacks and will b strength six (!!!) And of course will have the previously
confirmed phase shifter technology allowing them to pass through terrain
etc
2) The flayed ones are infiltrators who get off at pretending that they
are living creatures. They take the skin from the dead and wear it.
3) The Necron warriors are staying exactly the same as the CA list.
4) Scarabs come on large bases and have a disruption field, which allows
them to attack vehicles. They don't blow up.
5) Next, Jim butler mentioned that the box art for the MONOLITH tank is
complete and they are going ahead with it.
6) 'It will be bigger than a land raider', also, it can do much more than
just teleport troops. You get a certain amount of energy or actions in
a turn and it is up to the necron player as to what he uses it on, movement,
firing, teleporting, etc.
7) Mr chambers also stated that there are 4 C'Tan, though only in game
stats for 2 of them and, get this, "that it would be unlikely that
they could be destroyed outright but that there were methods for 'containing
them'." He didn't elaborate on that.
8) Also, further weight has been added to the rumours of the C'Tan having
swarm protection by one of the members of GW (who exactly escapes me)
mentioning that "any units in base to base contact with a C'Tan take
a wound on a d6 roll 0f 2+ (or 4+, the guy telling me couldn't be sure)
This probably has to go down as unconfirmed since it wasn't MR Chambers
or anyone involved in writing the codex who said it, but still, quite
a high chance of it being true.
