The Real Truth About the Advantages of Money and Power The Story Continues |
The Next Step 11-04-1999
On Tuesday, November 2, 1999, the main
story on the primary page of this
site, was sent to Amway, via the comments page at their web site
on the internet. The opening statement on the message was simple; "Give
this [the message] to Rich and Jay. The parties over."
On Tuesday, November 2, 1999, the above message was also posted at several different news group sites on the World Wide Web. Response to the posting was almost immediate. Read what one early response was:

I am sorry to hear of your misfortune, but thank you for sharing your story
with us. From my personal dealings with people associated with amway, I
know the truth of your statement that "Amway and
the rest of the supposedly moral 'right' is nothing more than a bunch of
greedy wolves in sheeps clothing, and they could care less about what honor,
integrity, and respect really mean."
Good luck in the future.
By Friday, November 5, 1999, I will have hopefully finished preparing complaint's to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and to the Consumer Product Safety & Complaint Division of the State of New Mexico, Attorney General's Office. The information in both complaint's will be based on the incident that occurred with the Amway Metal Cleaner on December 15, 1998, and will contain material found at The Amway Files. Those complaints should be in the hands of the CPSC and the State of New Mexico no later than November 8th or 9th.
One big question that I will be asking the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is if Amway reported the December 15, 1998 incident to them? Considering the manner in which Amway has treated me over the incident, you can bet that the CPSC is still in the dark over the incident. One of the mandatory requirements of the CPSC is that manufactures report defects in products that could create substantial hazards to the public.
Considering the eye injury that I received on December 15,1998, and the manner in which the injury was inflicted [the seam on the plastic tube failed & split open spewing the contents out], and the highly acidic and abrasive nature of the still publicly unknown contents in the Amway Metal Cleaner tube; Yes, I would say that this would be more than enough common sense reasoning to determine that a competent person in their right mind, could positively conclude that a substantial hazard does exist to the public safety, and that Amway should have reported the December 15, 1998 medical emergency incident involving Amway Metal Cleaner and Sherwood Ensey to the CPSC. Hopefully Amway did, but this is still to be determined.
No sensible and reasonable person wants to use a product that will harm them, and in the same regard, most of these same individuals expect to be warned beforehand, if a product has the potential to harm them.
A business that is sensible, responsible, and really cares about the public, should not knowingly sell a product that will harm someone, without at least taking the time to place a written precaution on the product warning the user of the dangers and hazards of that product first. It is a very old and stead fast rule of giving the buyer a warning beforehand; to tell the buyer to beware of the contents, and to tell them what the contents are that could harm them, and to allow the user to follow labeled instructions and take the appropriate precautions to prevent injury or harm to themselves. Amway Metal Cleaner and Amway provided none of this.
By Monday, I should have also finished the media information packets that will be submitted to all of the major news networks which have investigative programs, such as Dateline and 20/20.
I am also considering the filing of a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission over the safe, and environmentally friendly statements and claims, which Amway, and Amway distributors use in promoting products like Amway Metal Cleaner. When I was a independent distributor with Amway, I asked at a gathering one time about their being no warning labeling on the metal cleaner, and was told that one was not needed as there was nothing in the metal cleaner that could hurt you. The exchange of conversation was brief, but of what I was told I am certain.
Hmmmm.......
I will continue to make postings on the internet, where and whenever I can, so that the world wide word out on Amway, and how I was hurt, is spread far and wide to as many sources and people as is possible. If necessary, I will make it a daily job to get out the word, and I will continue with this campaign until Rich, Jay, and Amway do what is right and honorable.
Until that time I will continue to verbally lay siege to Amway with the truth, and a skillfully executed campaign of honed words.
Remember, if you use Amway Metal Cleaner, without proper protective eyewear [fully covered eyegoggles] in place, you are at risk of having the same thing happen to you that happened to me. And, you could turn out not being as lucky as I was when it comes to having any eyesight left.
Since Amway won't warn you about the hazards and dangers of Amway Metal Cleaner, then I will!
