I don't remember the plot. I vaguely remember the beginning of this book explaining away the bizarre climactic ending of Don't Point That Thing At Me, but it was pretty opaque. But that's not why I checked this out. I checked it out and read it because of the marvelous tone. The utterly corrupt and despicably loveable Charlie Mortdecai is unforgettable.
Again, there were a ton of Anglicisms that your American reader, such as myself, will struggle with. References to people and things and history and art and wine and other aristocratic things I have no clue about. That's okay. That's the price of admission.
