This was extraordinary. A marvelous surprise find on the new arrivals shelves at the Cedar Falls library. I picked it up because judging by the author's name I took it to be Chinese. Turned out not to be. It was American, but absolutely spectacular nevertheless.

It can't be described. It jumps headlong into the bizarre so quickly, and then just runs with this bizarreness, and none of the characters are remotely surprised by anything that happens, you just roll with it too and are wonderfully entertained. So many wonderful laugh out loud moments. So many words packed into sentences that you never thought you could see together.

Stunning. Seek out Tao Lin. He is the present.
