This book had the secondary title "101 Great Ideas From Around The World For Living A More Rewarding Life." It seemed like an interesting book to read at the time. I like travel. I like world culture. But I got about a third of the way into it and got pretty bored with it. But by then I just figured I might as well finish it and get it over with, which was stupid of me. I should have just quit.

It was pretty obvious. These well-kept international secrets of his seemed to me like they'd be common knowledge. Family time is good. Meditation is good. Less is more. The best part of travel is the people you meet. Well, duh.

Plus it was pretty unbelievable. I'll buy his boastful accounts of traipsing all over the world on a moment's notice; he works for an airline. Cheap, and sometimes even free, tickets. Fine, I'm jealous, but not incredulous. The unbelievable thing was his claim that he actually puts into practice all of these wonderful life-changing policies. According to him, he now spends an hour a day exercising, another hour meditating, another cooking, another with friends, another with family, another cleaning the house, another visiting the sick in hospitals, and so on. There's only so much you can do, dude. Don't be ridiculous.
