A good short read, if you're into the modern European meditative stuff like I am. I
suppose somebody smarter than I am would call this pretentious. But since it was mostly
over my head I think I'm unqualified for that.
I saw it on the shelf and read it for two major reasons. 1) It was Dutch and I had never
read anything Dutch before. 2) The author's last name is Van Den Boogaard, which is very
similar (or identical, depending on whether you count the "Van Den" as prepositions or
part of the name itself) to that of Derek Boogaard, left winger / enforcer for the
Minnesota Wild hockey team. There probably were Dutch immigrants to Saskatchewan at some
point, right?
Unbelievable. I spelled Saskatchewan right the first time. I just looked it up.
